(Matthéüs 5:25-32)

“JY MAG NIE EGBREUK PLEEG NIE:”

25. “Sorg dat jy baie gou op goeie voet met jou teenstander kom, anders gaan daardie persoon jou aan die regter oorgee, en die regter oorhandig jou aan die hofbeampte, en jy word in die tronk gegooi.

26. “Ek verseker jou, jy gaan beslis nie daar uitkom, voordat jy elke sent afbetaal het nie.

27. “Julle het gehoor dat daar gesê is: ‘Jy mag nie egbreuk pleeg nie.’

28. “Maar Ek sê vir julle: Elke man wat met ‘n wellustige oog na ‘n ander vrou kyk, het al klaar in sy hart egbreuk gepleeg.

29. “En as jou regteroog jou laat struikel, pluk dit liewer uit en gooi dit van jou af weg. Dit is vir jou beter dat een van jou liggaamsdele tot niet gaan, as dat jou hele liggaam in die hel eindig.

30. “Net so, as jou regterhand jou laat struikel, kap dit af en gooi dit van jou af weg. Dit is vir jou beter om net een van jou liggaamsdele te verloor, as dat jou hele liggaam in die hel eindig.

31. “Daar is gesê: ‘Al wat ‘n man nodig het om van sy vrou te skei, is om aan haar ‘n skeisertifikaat te oorhandig.

32. “Maar Ek sê vir julle: Elkeen wat van sy vrou skei, behalwe oor huweliksontrou, veroorsaak dat sy egbreuk pleeg. En elkeen wat met so ‘n geskeide vrou trou, pleeg ook egbreuk.”

“YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY:”

25. “Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison.

26. “Truly I say to you: You will never get out until have paid the last penny.

27. “You have heard that it was said: ‘You shall not commit adultery.’

28. “But I say to you: Everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent, has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

29. “If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members, than that your whole body be thrown into hell.

30. “And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better if you lose one of your members, than that your whole body go into hell.

31. “It was also said: ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.

32. “But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman, commits adultery.”

LOS JOU OFFER VOOR DIE ALTAAR:

17. “Julle moenie die rede vir My koms misverstaan nie. Ek het nie gekom om ‘n streep deur die Wet of die Profete te trek nie. Ek het gekom om die ware bedoeling van God se Wet te laat uitkom.

18. “Ek verseker julle, al sou die hemel en die aarde ophou bestaan, sal die Wet definitief tot in sy fynste besonderheid geldig bly, totdat God se bedoeling daarmee bereik is.

19. “As jy dus die kleinste van God se opdragte opsy sou skuif, en ander leer om dit ook te doen, sal jy die kleinste wees in God se Koninkryk. Maar as jy God se Wet tot in sy kleinste besonderheid respekteer en gehoorsaam, sal jy groot wees in Sy Koninkryk.

20. “Want ek sê vir julle, as julle nie die skrifkenners en die Fariseërs oortref in hoe julle God se Wil uitleef nie, sal julle beslis nie toegelaat word in Sy Koninkryk nie.

21. “Julle het gehoor dat vir ons voorouers gesê is: ‘Jy mag nie moord pleeg nie. As jy moord pleeg, sal jy voor die regbank rekenskap gee.’

22. “Maar Ek sê vir julle: Elkeen wat vir sy medemens kwaad bly, sal al klaar voor die regbank moet verantwoording doen. As jy vir iemand sê: ‘Jou gek,’ sal jy voor die hoogste regbank moet verantwoord. En as jy vir iemand sê: ‘Jou onnosel,’ sal jy jou in die hel moet verantwoord.

23. “As jy dus jou offer na die altaar bring, en dit val jou daar by dat jou medemens ‘n grief teen jou koester,

24. “los jou offer net daar voor die altaar, en gaan maak eers vrede met daardie persoon. Kom dan terug, en bring jou offer.”

17. “Do not think that I Have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I Have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them.

18. “For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until it is accomplished.

19. “Therefore, whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them, will be called great in the Kingdom of heaven.

20. “For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of heaven.

21. “You have heard that it was said to those of old: ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.

22. “But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgement; whoever insults his brother, will be liable to the council; and whoever says: ‘You fool,’ will be liable to the hell of fire.

23. “So if you are offering your gift at the alter, and there remember that your brother has something against you,

24. “leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.”

(Matthéüs 5:9-16)

“JULLE IS DIE SOUT WAT DIE AARDE ‘N BETER PLEK MOET MAAK:”

9. “Gelukkig is die vredemakers, want God sal vir hulle sê: ‘Julle is My kinders.’

10. “Gelukkig is die wat vervolg word ter wille van wat voor God reg is, want die Koninkryk van die hemele is hulle deel.

11. “Gelukkig is julle wanneer julle bespot en vervolg word, en allerhande leuens oor julle versprei word, omdat julle My dissipels is.

12. “Wees bly, ja jubel daaroor, want God sal julle ryklik beloon daarvoor. Onthou, so het hulle die Profete voor julle, ook vervolg.

13. “Julle is die sout wat die aarde ‘n beter plek moet maak. Maar as die sout verslaan het, kry jy dit op geen manier weer sout nie. Dis totaal onbruikbaar. Al waarvoor dit goed is, is om buite op die straat uitgegooi en deur die mense platgetrap te word.

14. “Julle is die Lig wat die wêreld moet verlig. ‘n Stad wat bo-op ‘n berg lê, kan mos nie weggesteek word nie!

15. “‘n Mens steek ook nie ‘n lamp op, en maak dit onder ‘n emmer toe nie. Inteendeel! Jy sit dit bo-op ‘n lampstaander. Dan maak dit lig vir almal in die huis.

16. “Julle moet so voorbeeldig lewe dat julle ‘n helder Lig sal laat uitstraal. Dan sal die mense dit sien, en julle hemelse Vader daarvoor prys!”

“YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH:”

9. “Blessed are the peace-makers, for they shall be called sons of God.

10. “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.

11. “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you, and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely, on My account.

12. “Rejoice and be glad for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the Prophets who were before you.

13. “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.

14. “You are the Light of the world. A city set on a hill, cannot be hidden.

15. “Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.

16. “In the same way, let your Light shine before others, so that they may see your good works, and give glory to your Father Who is in heaven!”

DIE BERG-PREDIKASIE:

1. Toe Jesus die groot skare mense bymekaar sien, het Hy teen die berg uitgeklim. Toe Hy gaan sit, het Sy dissipels na Hom toe gekom.

2. Hy het begin om hulle as volg te onderrig:

3. “Gelukkig is die mense wat weet hoe nodig hulle God het, want die Koninkryk van die hemele is hulle deel.

4. “Gelukkig is die treurendes, want God sal self hulle trane afvee.

5. “Gelukkig is die wat sag van hart is, want die Nuwe Aarde sal hulle erfporsie wees.

6. “Gelukkig is die wat honger en dors na wat voor God reg is, want Hy sal hulle hartsverlange bevredig.

7. “Gelukkig is diegene wat met ontferming uitreik na mense in nood, want God sal Hom oor húlle ontferm.

8. “Gelukkig is dié wie se harte volkome op God gerig is, want hulle sal God sien.”

4. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

5. “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

6. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

7. “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

8. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
