(Matthéüs 14:34-36)
ELKEEN WAT AAN SY SOOM GERAAK HET, HET GESOND GEWORD:
34. Nadat hulle die see oorgesteek het, het hulle by Gennesaret aan wal gegaan.
35. Toe die plaaslike mense dit hoor, het hulle die nuus deur die hele omgewing versprei, en al die siekes na Hom toe gebring.
36. Die siekes het Hom gesmeek om aan Hom te mag raak, al was dit net aan die onderste rand van Sy bo-kleed. En elkeen wat daaraan geraak het, het gesond geword.

1. Daar kom toe Fariseërs en skrifkenners van Jerusalem af na Jesus toe en sê:
2. ‘Waarom verbreek U dissipels ons voorouers se tradisies deur nie hulle hande voor ete te was nie?’
3. Jesus se reaksie was: “En waarom verbreek julle, deur julle tradisie die direkte opdrag van God?
4. “God sê byvoorbeeld: ‘+Jy moet jou pa en ma eer.’+ en ‘+elkeen wat sy pa of ma slegmaak, moet definitief sterf,’+
5. “Julle sê egter: ‘As jy jou bates as ‘n offer aan die Here toewy, hoef jy nie meer jou ouers te eer, deur hulle te ondersteun nie.’ “
6. “So trek julle met julle tradisie ‘n streep deur die Woord van God.”

34. And when they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret.
35. And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent around to all that region, and brought to Him all who were sick,
36. and implored Him that they might only touch the fringe of His garment. And as many as touched it, were made well.
(Matthew 15:1-6)
1. Then Pharisees and scribes came from Jerusalem and said:
2. ‘Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat.’
3. He answered them: “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?
4. “For God commanded: ‘+Honour your father and your mother,’+ and: ‘+Whoever reviles father or mother, must surely die.’+
5. “But you say: ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother: ‘What you would have gained from me is given to God,
6. “‘he need not honour his father.’ So for the sake of your tradition, you have made void the Word of God.”

(Matthéüs 14:24-32)
“WAAROM VERTROU JY MY NIE?”
24. Ondertussen was die skuit reeds ver van die land af. Met ‘n sterk wind teen hulle, moes hulle teen woeste golwe veg.
25. Kort voor dagbreek het Jesus op die see na hulle aangeloop gekom.
26. Toe die dissipels Hom so op die see sien loop, was hulle verskrik, en hulle het benoud begin skree, want hulle het gedink dis ‘n spook.
27. Maar Jesus het dadelik vir hulle gesê: “Toemaar, moet julle nie ontstel nie. Dit is Ek.”
28. Petrus sê toe vir Hom: ‘Here, as dit regtig U is, laat my dan op die water na U toe kom.’
29. “Kom dan,” het Jesus gesê. Petrus klim toe oor die rand van die skuit, en begin op die water na Jesus toe loop.
30. Maar toe hy die hoë golwe rondom hom sien, het hy paniekerig geword, en begin sink. Hy skreeu toe vir Jesus: ‘Here red my!’
31. Jesus het onmiddellik Sy hand uitgesteek en hom gegryp. “Jou geloof is maar bitter klein,” sê Hy toe vir hom: “Waarom vertrou jy My nie?”
32. En toe hulle in die skuit klim, gaan lê die wind.
33. Daarop het die mense in die skuit Hom aanbid: ‘U is werklik die Seun van God!’ het hulle uitgeroep.

“YOU OF LITTLE FAITH, WHY DID YOU DOUBT?”
24. The boat by this time was a long way from the land, beaten by the waves, for the wind was against them.
25. And in the fourth watch of the night, He came to them, walking on the sea.
26. But when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified and said: ‘It is a ghost,’ and they cried out in fear.
27. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying: “Take heart, it is I. Do not be afraid.”
28. And Peter answered Him: ‘Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water!’
29. He said: “Come,” so Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, and came to Jesus.
30. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out: ‘Lord, save me!’
31. Jesus immediately reached out His hand and took hold of him, saying to him: “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
32. And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
33. And those in the boat, worshiped Him, saying: ‘Truly, You are the Son of God!’

(Matthéüs 14:17-23)
ALMAL HET GEËET TOT HULLE VERSADIG WAS:
17. ‘Onmoontlik!’ Het hulle uitgeroep. ‘Al wat ons het is vyf brode en twee visse.’
18. “Bring dit hier vir My,”het Jesus gesê.
19. Hy gee toe opdrag dat die mense op die gras moet gaan sit. Daarna neem Hy die vyf brode en die twee visse, kyk op na die hemel, en vra God om die kos te seën. Toe breek Hy die brood en vis in stukke, en Sy dissipels weer aan die skare.
20. Hulle het almal geëet tot hulle versadig was. Van die oorskiet van die brood het hulle nog twaalf mandjies opgetel.
21. Omtrent vyf duisend mans het van hierdie kos geëet, afgesien van al die vroue en kinders.
22. Dadelik hierna het Jesus Sy dissipels gedwing om weer in die skuit te klim en na die oorkant van die see te vaar, terwyl Hy die mense intussen huis toe stuur.
23. Daarna het Hy teen die berg uitgeklim om eenkant te gaan bid. Laataand was Hy alleen daar.

17. They said to Him: ‘We only have five loaves here and two fish.’
18. And He said to them: “Bring them here to Me.”
19. Then He ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then He broke the loaves and the fish, and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.
20. And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces, left over.
21. And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
22. Immediately He made the disciples get into the boat, and go before Him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowds.
23. And after He Had dismissed the crowds, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. When evening came, He was there alone.

“YOU GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO EAT:”

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:
(Matthéüs 13:9-16)
GEE JULLE VIR HULLE KOS:
9. Die koning was bitter ontsteld hieroor, maar omdat hy ‘n eed afgelê het, en hy nie voor sy gaste sleg wou lyk nie, het hy opdrag gegee dat haar wens uitgevoer moes word.
10. Hy stuur toe soldate en laat Johannes in die tronk onthoof.
11. Sy kop is op ‘n skinkbord ingebring en aan die meisie gegee, wat dit weer na haar ma toe gevat het.
12. Johannes se dissipels het sy liggaam kom haal en hom begrawe. Daarna het hulle vir Jesus kom vertel wat gebeur het.
13. Toe Jesus dit hoor, het Hy in ‘n skuit daarvandaan weggegaan na ‘n afgeleë plek, om alleen te wees. Maar die skare het dit uitgevind, en het vanuit hulle dorpe oorland agter Hom aangekom.
14. Toe Jesus uit die skuit klim, sien Hy dat daar reeds ‘n massa mense bymekaar was. Hy het ‘n diepe deernis vir hulle gevoel, en hulle siekes gesond gemaak.
15. Teen laat middag, kom Jesus se dissipels vir Hom sê: ‘Dis ‘n verlate plek hierdie, en kyk hoe laat is dit al. Stuur die mense weg dat hulle in die dorpies kan gaan kos koop.’
16. Maar Jesus het hulle geantwoord: “Dis onnodig, gee julle vir hulle kos.”

“YOU GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO EAT:”
9. And the king was sorry, but because of his oaths and his guests, he commanded it to be given.
10. He sent soldiers and had John beheaded in the prison,
11. and his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl. And she brought it to her mother.
12. And John’s disciples came and took the body and buried it. And they went and told Jesus.
13. When Jesus heard this, He withdrew from there in a boat to a desolate place to be by Himself. But when the crowds heard it, they followed Him on foot from the towns.
14. When He went ashore He saw a great crowd, and He had compassion on them, and healed their sick.
15. When it was evening His disciples came to Him and said: ‘This is a desolate place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves.’
16. But Jesus said: “They need not go away; you give them something to eat.”
