(Johannes 20:21-31)

“ONS HET DIE HERE GESIEN:”

21. “Vrede vir julle!” Sê Jesus weer ‘n keer. Net soos die Vader My gestuur het, stuur Ek julle ook.”

22. Nadat Jesus dit gesê het, het Hy oor hulle geblaas, en gesê: “Ontvang die Heilige Gees!”

23. “Wie se sondes julle ookal vergewe, God vergewe hulle dit; wie s’n julle ook al handhaaf, God handhaaf dit.”

24. Tomas, ook genoem Didimus, een van die twaalf, was nie saam met die ander dissipels toe Jesus daar aangekom het nie.

25. Die ander dissipels sê toe vir hom: ‘Ons het die Here gesien!’ Maar hy het vir hulle gesê: ‘As ek nie die merk van die spykers in Sy hande sien, en my vinger in die spyker-merke steek, en my hand in Sy sy steek mnie, sal ek nooit glo nie!’

26. Agt dae later was Jesus se dissipels weer saam, en Tomas was by hulle. Die deur was op slot en grendel, maar Jesus het tussen hulle kom staan, en aan hulle gesê: “Vrede vir julle!”

27. Daarna sê Hy vir Tomas: “Bring jou vinger hier en kyk na My hande, en bring jou hand, en steek dit in My sy; en hou op ongelowig wees, maar word gelowig!”

28. Tomas het daarop gesê: ‘My Here en My God!’

29. Jesus se reaksie daarop was: “Glo jy nou, nadat jy klaar gesien het? Geseënd is hulle wat nie gesien het, en tog geglo het.”

30. Jesus het nog baie ander wondertekens voor Sy dissipels gedoen. Daardie tekens is nie opgeskryf in hierdie boek nie.

31. Hierdie tekens is wel opgeskryf, sodat julle tot die geloof kan kom, dat Jesus die Messias is, die Seun van God, en sodat julle deur aan te hou glo, in Sy Naam die LEWE kan hê.

“WE HAVE SEEN THE LORD!”

21. Jesus said to them again: “Peace be with you. As the Father Has sent Me, even so I Am sending you.”

22. And when He Had said this, He breathed on them, and said: “Receive the Holy Spirit!

23. “If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them. If you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”

24. Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came.

25. So the other disciples told him: ‘We have seen the Lord!’ but he said to them: ‘Unless I see in His hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger in the mark of the nails, and place my hand into His side, I will never believe!’

26. Eight days later, His disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them, and said: “Peace be with you!”

27. Then He said to Thomas: “Put your finger here, and see My hands; and put out your hand, and place it in My side. Do not disbelieve, but believe!”

28. Thomas answered Him: ‘My Lord and my God!’

29. Then Jesus said to him: “Have you believed because you have seen Me? Blessed are those who have not seen, and yet have believed.”

30. Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book;

31. but these are written so that you can believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing, you have LIFE in His Name.

(Johannes 20:11-20)

SY HET OMGEDRAAI EN JESUS SIEN STAAN:

11. Maria het buite die graf gestaan en huil. Terwyl sy huil, het sy vooroor gebuk, en by die graf ingekyk.

12. Sy sien toe twee engele met wit klere aan, wat sit op dieselfde plek waar die liggaam van Jesus gelê het, een aan die kopkant, en een aan die voetekant.

13. Hulle vra haar toe: “Vrou, waarom huil jy?” Sy antwoord hulle: ‘Hulle het my Here weggeneem, en ek weet nie waar hulle Hom neergelê het nie.’

14. Nadat sy dit gesê het, het sy omgedraai en Jesus daar sien staan, maar sy het nie besef dat dit Jesus was nie.

15. Jesus sê toe vir haar: “Vrou, waarom huil jy? Wie soek jy?” Sy het gemeen dat dit die tuinwerker is, en het vir Hom gesê: “Meneer, as u Hom weggedra het, sê asseblief vir my waar u Hom neergelê het, en ek sal Hom gaan haal.’

16. Jesus sê toe vir haar: “Maria!” Sy draai om en sê vir Hom in Aramees: ‘Rabboeni!’ Dit beteken: “Leermeester!”

17. Jesus sê toe vir haar: “Moenie aan My raak nie, want Ek het nognie na My Vader opgevaar nie. Gaan na My broers en vertel vir hulle: “Ek vaar op na My Vader toe, wat ook julle Vader is, na My God toe, wat ook julle God is.”

18. Maria Magdalena het die boodskap aan Jesus se dissipels gaan oordra: ‘Ek het die Here gesien!’ Sy het ook vertel wat Hy vir haar gesê het.

19. Gedurende die vroeë aand, op daardie Sondag, terwyl die deure, uit vrees vir die Jode, gesluit was, het Jesus se dissipels bymekaar gekom. Jesus het tussen hulle gaan staan en vir hulle gesê: “Vrede vir julle?”

20. Nadat Hy dit gesê het, wys Hy Sy hande en Sy sy aan hulle. Die dissipels was baie bly en opgewonde om die Here te sien!

(John 20:11-20)

SHE TURNED AROUND AND SAW JESUS STANDING:

11. But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept, she stooped to look into the tomb.

12. And she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head, and one at the feet.

13. They said to her: ‘Woman, why are you weeping?’ She said to them: ‘They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they had laid Him.’

14. Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus.

15. Jesus said to her: “Woman, why are you weeping?” Supposing Him to be the gardener, she said to Him: ‘Sir, if You Have carried Him away, let me know where you have laid Him, and I will take Him away.’

16. Jesus said to her: “Mary!” She turned and said to Him in Aramaic: ‘Rabboni!’ (which means: TEACHER.)

17. Jesus said to her: “Do not cling to Me, for I Have not yet ascended to the Father, but go to My brothers and say to them: I Am ascending to My Father and your Father, to My God and your God.”

18. Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples: ‘I have seen the Lord,’ and that He Had said these things to her.

19. On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the door being locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them, and said to them: “Peace be to you.”

20. When He Had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. The disciples were glad, when they saw the Lord!

(Johannes 20:1-10)

HULLE HET NOGNIE DIE SKRIF VERSTAAN DAT HY MOES OPSTAAN UIT DIE DOOD NIE:

1. Vroeg die Sondag-oggend, toe dit nog donker was, kom Maria Magdalena by die graf aan, en merk op dat die klip voor die graf weggerol is.

2. Sy hardloop toe en kom by Petrus en die ander dissipel, en sê vir hulle: ‘Hulle het die Here uit die graf weggeneem, en ek weet nie waar hulle Hom neergelê het nie.’

3. Petrus en die ander dissipel het na die graf toe gehardloop.

4. Die twee het saam gehardloop maar die ander dissipel het vinniger gehardloop en eerste by die graf aangekom.

5. Toe hy vooroor buk, sien hy net die linne doeke daar lê, maar hy het nie ingegaan nie.

6. Simon Petrus het na hom daar aangekom, en by die graf ingegaan. Hy sien toe ook die linnedoeke daar lê,

7. en die kopdoek wat om Jesus se kop was, het nie by die ander doeke gelê nie, maar was eenkant opgerol.

8. Daarop het die ander dissipel ook ingegaan, en geglo.

9. Hulle het nog nie die Skrif verstaan dat Jesus uit die dood moes opstaan nie.

10. Daarna het die dissipels weer terug gegaan na hulle huise toe.

(John 20:1-10)

THEY DID NOT YET UNDERSTAND THAT HE MUST RISE FROM THE DEAD:

1. On the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.

2. So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, and said to them: “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and I do not know where they had laid Him.”

3. So Peter went out with the other disciple, and they were going toward the tomb.

4. Both of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter, and reached the tomb first.

5. And stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in.

6. Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there,

7. and the face cloth, which had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded up in a place by itself.

8. Then the other disciple also went in, and he saw and believed,

9. for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that He must rise from the dead.

10. Then the disciples went back to their homes.
