(Handelinge 1:23-26)

MATTIAS IS GEKIES AS DIE TWAALFDE APOSTEL:

23. Hulle stel toe twee voor: Josef wat ook Barsabbas of Justus genoem word, en Mattias.

24. Hulle bid toe saam dat die regte een verkies word: “Here,” het hulle gebid: “U ken elke hart. Wys ons watter een U gekies het

25. om as apostel te dien in die plek van Judas, wat ons in die steek gelaat het, om na die plek te gaan waar hy hoort.”

26. Hulle het toe geloot, en die loting het vir Mattias aangewys. So is hy gekies as die twaalfde apostel.

(Handelunge 2:1-4)

1. Op Pinksterdag, sewe weke na Jesus se opstanding, was al die gelowiges op een plek saam.

2. Skielik was daar in die lug bokant hulle ‘n geluid soos van ‘n geweldige stormwind, en dit het die hele huis gevul waar hulle bymekaar was.

3. Tonge, wat gelyk het soos individuele vuurvlamme, het toe tussen hulle verskyn, en op elkeen van hulle gaan sit.

4. Almal is toe met die Heilige Gees vervul, en soos die Gees vir hulle die die vermoë gegee het, het hulle in ander tale begin praat.

24. And they prayed and said: “You Lord, Who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two You Have chosen

25. “to take the place in this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas turned aside, to go to his own place.”

26. And they cast lots for them and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

(Acts 2:1-4)

1. When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.

2. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound, like a Mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.

3. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them.

4. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

JUDAS HET ‘N STUK GROND GEKOOP:

14. Hulle het saam aanhou bid. Maria, Jesus se ma, ander vroue, en Jesus se broers, was ook by.

15. In daardie tyd was daar ‘n byeenkoms van sowat 120 gelowiges. Petrus het opgestaan en gesê:

16. “Mede-gelowiges, dit was nodig dat die Skrif oor Judas vervul moes word – dié man wat die tempel-polisie wat Jesus wou arresteer, na Hom toe gelei het. Die Heilige Gees het dit al lankal voorspel, toe Hy deur Dawid daaroor gepraat het.

17. “Judas was inderdaad een van ons, en hy is ook saam met ons gekies vir hierdie bediening.

18. “Met die omkoop-geld wat Judas vir sy verraad gekry het, het hy ‘n stuk grond gekoop. Daar het hy vooroor geval, en sy middellyf het oopgebars, en al sy ingewande het uitgepeul.”

19. (Die nuus van sy dood het vinning onder die inwoners van Jerusalem versprei. Hulle het daardie plek toe Akeldama genoem, ‘n Aramese woord wat ‘Bloedgrond’ beteken.)

20. Petrus het voortgegaan: “Dis presies hoe dit in die Psalmboek geskryf staan: ‘Laat sy woonplek verlate word; laat niemand daar bly nie.’ En op ‘n ander plek: ‘Laat iemand anders sy toesig-verantwoordelikheid oorneem.’

21. “Daarom moet ons nou iemand anders kies. Dit moet een van die mans wees wat die hele tyd, toe die Here Jesus by ons was, ook saam met ons was,

22. “van die tyd toe Jesus heel aan die begin deur Johannes gedoop is, tot die dag toe Hy van ons in die hemel opgeneem is. Die een wat gekies word, sal saam met ons ‘n getuie wees van Jesus se opstanding.”

JUDAS ACQUIRED A PIECE OF LAND:

14. All these with one accord, were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary, the mother if Jesus, and His brothers.

15. In those days Peter stood up among the brothers (the company of persons was in all about 120), and said:

16. “Brothers, the Scriptures had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.

17. “For he was numbered among us, and was alotted his share in this ministry.

18. “Now this man acquired a field with the reward of his wickedness, and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out.”

19. (And it became known to all the inhabitants of Israel, so that the field was called in their own language: Akeldama, that is: Field of Blood.)

20. “For it is written in the Book of Psalms: ‘May his camp become desolate, and let there be no one to dwell in it;’ and: ‘Let another take his office.’

21. “So one of the men who have accompanied us during all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, must be chosen,

22. “beginning from the baptism of John, until the day He was taken up from us, a witness to His resurrection.”

“JULLE SAL KRAG ONTVANG WANNEER DIE HEILIGE GEES OOR JULLE KOM:”

(Handelinge, geskryf deur Lukas.)

1. “Beste Teofilus. In my eerste boek het ek jou vertel van alles wat Jesus begin doen en leer het,

2. “tot op die dag toe Hy opgeneem is. Voor Sy hemelvaart het Hy deur die Heilige Gees aan die mans wat Hy as apostels uitgekies het, opdragte gegee.

3. “In die loop van veertig dae na Sy lydenstyd, het Hy by verskeie geleenthede aan die apostels verskyn en op baie maniere aan hulle bewys dat Hy regtig lewe. Hy het telkens met hulle oor die Konings-heerskappy van God gepraat.

4. ‘n Keer toe hulle so saam was, het Hy aan hulle die opdrag gegee: “Moenie Jerusalem verlaat, voordat julle van die Vader ontvang het wat Hy belowe het nie. Julle onthou mos dat Ek julle vroeër daarvan vertel het.

5. “Johannes het met water gedoop, maar julle sal binne ‘n paar dae met die Heilige Gees gedoop word.

6. Toe hulle weer ‘n keer bymekaar was, het die apostels Jesus aanhou vra: ‘Here, is dit nou die tyd dat U Israel weer ‘n onafhanklike volk met ‘n eie koning gaan maak?’

7. “DIe Vader bepaal hierdie datums,” het Jesus geantwoord, “en die bedoeling is nie dat julle dit moet ken nie.

8. “Maar wanneer die Heilige Gees oor julle kom, sal julle krag ontvang en oral mense eerstehands van My vertel – in Jerusalem, oor die hele Judea, in Samaria, en tot in die uithoeke van die aarde.”

9. Hy het dit gesê en is toe in die hemelruim opgeneem, en terwyl hulle toekyk. Hy het in ‘n wolk verdwyn.

10. Toe Hy wegraak en hulle nog stip die hemelruim inkyk, het daar skielik twee mans in wit klere by hulle gestaan.

11. Die twee mans sê toe: “Galilese manne, waarom staan julle na die hemel en kyk?Jesus is van julle af weggeneem die hemel in. Hy sal egter net so terugkom, soos julle Hom die hemel sien ingaan het!”

12. Na hierdie gebeure het die apostels van die Olyfberg af na Jerusalem toe, teruggestap, ‘n afstand van net onder ‘n kilometer.

13. Hulle is toe na die bovertrek toe, waar hulle tuisgegaan het. Die volgende persone was daar: Petrus, Johannes, Jakobus, Andreas, Filippus, Tomas,Bartolomeus, Mattheus, Jakobus, seun van Alfeus, Simon die Yweraar, en Judas, seun van Jakobus.

“YOU WILL RECEIVE POWER WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS COME UPON YOU:”

1. In the first Book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach,

2. “until the day when Jesus was taken up, after He Had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom He Had chosen.

3. He presented Himself alive to them after His suffering, by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days, and speaking about the Kingdom of God.

4. And while staying with them, He ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, He said, “you have heard from Me;

5. “for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

6. So when they had come together, they asked Him: ‘Lord, Will You at this time, restore the Kingdom to Israel?’

7. He said to them: “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father Has fixed by His Own authority.

8. “But you will receive Power when the Holy Spirit Has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

9. And when He Had said these things, as they were looking on, He was lifted up, and a cloud took Him out of their sight.

10. And while they were gazing into heaven as He went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes,

11. and said: “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven?This Jesus, Who was taken up from you into heaven, Will come in the same way as you saw Him go into heaven.”

12. Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away.

13. And when they had entered, they went to the upper room where they were staying,Peter and John and James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas, the son of James.

“LORD YOU KNOW EVERYTHING, YOU KNOW THAT I LOVE YOU:”

Saterdag 6 April 2024.

(Johannes 21:12-19)

“HERE U WEET ALLES, U WEET DAT EK U LIEFHET:”

12. Jesus het hulle uitgenooi: “Kom kry ontbyt.” Nie een van Sy dissipels het dit gewaag om Hom te vra: ‘Wie is U?’ nie. Hulle het net geweet dat dit die Here is.

13. Jesus het nader gekom, die brood geneem en aan hulle uitgedeel, net so ook die vis.

14. Dit was reeds die derde keer dat Jesus aan Sy dissipels verskyn het, nadat Hy uit die dood opgewek is.

15. Toe hulle klaar ontbyt geëet het, vra Jesus vir Simon Petrus: “Simon, seun van Johannes, het jy My lief, meer as hierdie hier? Petrus antwoord: ‘Ja Here, U weet dat ek U liefhet.’ Jesus sê vir hom: “Gaan versorg My lammers.”

16. Jesus vra hom toe ‘n tweede keer: “Simon, seun van Johannes, het jy My lief?” Petrus antwoord: ‘Ja Here, U weet dat ek U liefhet.’ Jesus sê vir hom: “Wees ‘n herder vir My skape.”

17. ‘n Derde keer vra Jesus hom: “Simon, seun van Johannes, het jy My lief?” Petrus het hartseer geword, omdat Jesus hom ‘n derde keer gevra het: “Het jy My lief?”en hy antwoord Jesus: ‘Here, U weet alles. U weet dat ek U liefhet.”Jesus sê daarop vir hom: “Gaan versorg My skape.”

18. “Ek verseker jou, toe jy nog jonger was, het jy self jou klere vasgegordel, en het jy rondgegaan waar jy ookal wou; wanneer jy egter oud is, sal jy jou hande uitstrek, en liemand anders sal jou klere vasgordel, en jou bring waar jy nie graag sal wil wees nie.”

19. Dit het Jesus gesinspeel op die soort dood waarmee Petrus God sou verheerlik. Nadat Hy dit gesê het, sê Jesus vir Petrus: “Volg jy My as My dissipel.”

(John 21:12-19)

“LORD YOU KNOW EVERYTHING, YOU KNOW THAT I LOVE YOU:”

12. Jesus said to them: “Come and have breakfast.” None of the disciples dared to ask Him: ‘Who are You?’ They knew it was the Lord.

13. Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish.

14. This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to His disciples, after He was raised from the dead.

15. When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter: “Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him: ‘Yes Lord, You know that I love You.’ Jesus said to him: “Feed My lambs.”

16. He said to him a second time: “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” He said to Him: ‘Yes Lord, You know that I love You.’ He said to him: “Tend My sheep.”

17. He said to him the third time: “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time: “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him: ‘Lord, You know everything. You know that I love You!’ Jesus said to Peter: “Feed My sheep.”

18. “Truly, truly, I say to you: “When you were young, you used to dress yourself, and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you, and carry you where you do not want to go.”

19. (This He said to show by what kind of death he was to glorify God). And after saying this, He said to him: “Follow Me as My disciple.”

ALTHOUGH THERE WERE SO MANY FISH, THE NET WAS NOT TORN:

Vrydag 5 April 2024.

(Johannes 21:1-11)

AL WAS DAAR SO BAIE VISSE, HET DIE NET NIE GESKEUR NIE:

1. Daarna het Jesus weer aan Sy dissipels by die Meer van Tiberias verskyn. Dit het sò gebeur:

2. Die volgende dissipels was daar saam: Simon Petrus en Tomas (wat ook Didimus genoem is), Natanael van Kana in Galilea, die seuns van Sebedeus, en nog twee ander.

3. Simon Petrus het vir hulle gesê: “Ek gaan visvang,” Hulle antwoord hom: ‘Ons gaan ook saam met jou.’ Hulle het in die skuit geklim, maar het daardie nag niks gevang nie.

4. Net nà dagbreek het Jesus daar op die strand gestaan, maar Sy dissipels was nie daarvan bewus dat dit HY was nie.

5. Hy vra toe vir hulle: “Kinders, het julle nie iets om te eet nie?” Hulle antwoord: ‘Nee.’

6. Hy sê toe vir hulle: “Gooi die net aan die regterkant van die boot uit, en julle sal vis kry.” Hulle het toe die net uitgegooi, en kon dit nie weer intrek nie, as gevolg van die groot hoeveelheid vis.

7. Johannes sê toe vir Petrus: ‘Dit is die Here!’ Toe Petrus hoor dat dit die Here is, het hy sy klere aangetrek, want hy was halfpad kaal, gereed om sy werk te doen, en hy het in die water gespring.

8. Die ander dissipels het solank met die bootjie nader gekom, want hulle was nie ver van die land af nie, ongeveer 100 meter, en hulle het die net met visse land toe gesleep.

9. Toe hulle aan land kom, sien hulle ‘n vuurtjie, met ‘n vis wat daarop lê, en daar was ook brood. Jesus sê toe vir hulle:

10. “Bring van die vis wat julle so pas gevang het.”

11. Simon Petrus het in die boot geklim en die net aan land getrek. Dit was vol groot visse, 153 van hulle. Al was daar so baie, het die net nie geskeur nie.

ALTHOUGH THERE WERE SO MANY FISH, THE NET WAS NOT TORN:

1. After this Jesus revealed Himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias, and He revealed Himself in this way:

2. Simon Peter, Thomas (called the Twin), Thomas, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two of His other disciples, were together.

3. Simon Peter said to them: “I am going fishing.” They said to him: ‘We will go with you.’ They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.

4. Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the shore, but His disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

5. Jesus said to them: “Children, do you have any fish?” They answered Him: ‘No.’

6. He then said to them: “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, then you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish.

7. John said to Peter: ‘It is the Lord!’ When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment, for he was stripped for work, and threw himself into the sea.

8. The other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, but about a hundred yards off.

9. When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread.

10. Jesus said to them: “Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.”

11. So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, 153 of them. And although there were so many, the net was not torn.
