(Romeine 11:29-36)

AS GOD GENADEGAWES GESKENK HET, TREK HY DIT NOOIT WEER TERUG NIE: 

  1. “As God eenmaal aan mense Sy genadegawes geskenk en hulle geroep het, trek Hy dit nooit weer terug nie. 
  2. “Vroeër was julle heidene ongehoorsaam aan God, maar noudat die Jode ongehoorsaam geword het, het God Hom oor hulle ontferm. 
  3. “Net so gaan dit ook met die Jode: Omdat God Hom oor julle ontferm het, het hulle nou ongehoorsaam geword. Maar dit gebeur sodat hulle self ook nou ontferming kan vind. 
  4. “God het almal aan die ongehoorsaamheid oorgegee, sodat Hy Hom oor almal kan ontferm. 
  5. “O diepte van die RYKDOM en WYSHEID en KENNIS van God! Hoe ondeurgrondelik is Sy oordele, hoe onnaspeurlik Sy weë! 
  6. “Wie ken die bedoeling van die Here? Wie gee Hom raad? 
  7. “Wie bewys Hom ‘n guns, sodat Hy verplig is om iets terug te doen?
  8. “Uit Hom en deur Hom en tot Hom is alle dinge. Aan Hom behoort die HEERLIKHEID tot in ewigheid! Amen.

  1. “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. 
  2. “For just as you were at one time disobedient to God, but now have received mercy, because of their disobedience, 
  3. “so they too have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you, they also may now receive mercy.
  4. “For God Has consigned all to disobedience, that He may have mercy on all. 
  5. “Oh the depth of the RICHES and WISDOM and KNOWLEDGE of God! How unsearchable are His judgements, and how inscrutable His ways! 
  6. “For who have known the mind of the Lord, or who has been His counselor?
  7. “Or who has given a gift to Him, that he might be repaid? 
  8. “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be GLORY forever!

HULLE IS GELIEFDES OM DIE AARTSVADERS SE ONTWIL: 

  1. “Let dan op die goedheid en strengheid van God: Sy strengheid oor die afvalliges, en Sy goedheid oor jou. Maar dan moet jy uit Sy goedheid łewe, anders kan jy ook uitgekap word. 
  2. “En wat hulle betref, as hulle nie in hulle ONGELOOF volhard nie, sal hulle ook geënt word want God is in staat om hulle terug te ent. 
  3. “As God jou uit die wilde olyf, waar jy van nature hoort, kon uitkap en teen jou natuur in op die mak olyf kon ent, hoeveel te meer sal Hy die mak takke op hulle ou boom ent. 
  4. “Ons staan hier voor ‘n geheimenis broers, en ek wil hê julle moet weet wat dit is, sodat julle nie te selfversekerd sal wees nie. Die verharding het oor ‘n deel van Israel gekom, en duur totdat die volle getal uit die heiden-nasies in die Koninkryk ingegaan het; 
  5. “en op hierdie manier sal die hele Israel gered word. So staan daar geskrywe: ‘+Uit Sion sal die Redder kom, en Hy sal die goddeloosheid van Sy volk Jakob verwyder. 
  6. “‘+En hierdie verbond sal Ek met hulle sluit wanneer Ek hulle sondes wegneem.’.+
  7. “Wat die evangelie betref, is hulle wel vyande van God, en dit kom julle ten goede, maar kragtens die uitverkiesing is hulle geliefdes, om die aartsvaders se ontwil. 
  8. “As God eenmaal aan mense Sy genadegawes geskenk en hulle geroep het, trek Hy dit nooit weer terug nie.”

  1. “Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in His kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. 
  2. “And even they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God Has the Power to graft them in again. 
  3. “For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree? 
  4. “Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery brothers: ‘A partial hardening had come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 
  5. “And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written: ‘+The Deliverer Will come from Zion, He Will banish ungodliness from Jacob; 
  6. “‘+and this will be My covenant with them, when I take away their sins.’+
  7. “As regards the Gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. 
  8. “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”

“JY IS DAAR OMDAT JY GLO:”

  1. “Nou praat ek met julle, gelowiges uit die Heiden-nasies. As apostel vir die heiden-nasies is ek trots op my werk en strewe ek daarna, 
  2. “om op een of ander manier my eie mense jaloers te maak, en sommige van hulle te red. 
  3. “As hulle verwerping vir die wêreld versoening beteken het, wat sal hulle aanneming dan nie beteken nie? Niks minder as lewe uit die dood! 
  4. “As die eerste stuk deeg aan God gewy is, dan is ook die res van die deeg aan Hom gewy. En as die wortel van die boom aan God gewy is, dan is ook die takke aan Hom gewy. 
  5. “Party van die takke is uitgekap, en jy, ‘n wilde olyf, is tussen die ander takke op die mak olyf geënt. So het jy deel gekry aan die lewenssap van die mak olyf se wortel. 
  6. “Moet jou dan nie bo die ander takke verhef nie! Moet jou ook nie verbeel jy is iets nie: dit is nie jy wat die wortel dra nie, die wortel dra jou. 
  7. “Jy sal wel sê: ‘Takke is uitgekap so ék daar geënt kon word,’ 
  8. “Dis waar. Hulle is uitgekap omdat hulle nie GEGLO het nie; jy is daar geënt omdat jy GLO.  Moenie daaroor hoogmoedig wees nie; hou rekening met God;
  9. “want as Hy die natuurlike takke nie ontsien het nie, sal Hy jou dalk ook nie ontsien nie.”

“YOU STAND FAST THROUGH FAITH:”

  1. “Now I am speaking to the Gentiles: Inasmuch then as I am apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, 
  2. “in order somehow to make my fellow Jews jealous, and thus safe some of them. 
  3. “For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean, but life from the dead? 
  4. “If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches. 
  5. “But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others, and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, 
  6. “do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. 
  7. “Then you will say: ‘Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.’
  8. “That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through FAITH. So do not become proud, but fear. 
  9. “For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither Will He spare you.”

  1. “Net so is dit ook vandag: Daar is ‘n oorblyfsel wat uit GENADE deur God uitverkies is. 
  2. “En as dit uit GENADE is, dan is dit nie uit verdienste nie, anders sou die GENADE nie meer GENADE wees nie. 
  3. “Waarop kom dit dan neer? Hierop: Wat Israel soek, het hulle nie gekry nie; die uitverkorenes het dit gekry. Die ander is verhard, 
  4. “soos daar geskrywe staan: ‘+God het aan hulle ‘n gees gegee wat hulle bedwelm het: Oë wat nie sien nie, en ore wat nie hoor nie, tot vandag toe nog.’+
  5. “En Dawid sê: ‘+Mag hulle maaltye vir hulle ‘n vangstrik en ‘n val word, en ‘n struikelblok en ‘n straf. 
  6. “‘+Mag hulle oë verduister word, dat hulle nie kan sien nie; en buig hulle rug vir altyd krom.’..+
  7. ‘n Ander vraag is: ‘Het Israel se struikeling hulle finale val beteken?’ Beslis nie! Maar deur hulle val het die redding na die Heiden-nasies toe gekom om die Jode jaloers te maak. 
  8. “As hulle val ‘n verryking vir die wêreld beteken het, en hulle klein oorblyfseltjie ‘n verryking vir die Heiden-nasies, hoeveel te meer sal dit dan nie tot seën wees as die Jode se volle getal gelowig sou word nie!”

(Romans 11:5-12) 

THROUGH THEIR TRESPASS SALVATION HAS COME TO THE GENTILES: 

  1.  “So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by GRACE. 
  2. “But if it is by GRACE, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise GRACE would no longer be GRACE. 
  3. “What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened, 
  4. “as it is written: ‘+God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see, and ears that would not hear, down to this very day.’+
  5. “And David says: ‘+Let their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and retribution for them; 
  6. “‘+let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and bend their backs forever.’+
  7. “So I ask: Did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather, through their trespass SALVATION has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. 
  8. “Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failings means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean!”
