(2 Korinthiërs 5:17-21)

“ONS IS GESANTE VAN CHRISTUS:”

“Iemand wat aan Christus behoot, is ‘n nuwe mens. Die oue is verby, die nuwe het gekom.
“Dit alles is die werk van God. Hy het ons deur Christus met Homself versoen, en aan ons die bediening van die versoening toevertrou.
“Die boodskap van versoening bestaan daarin dat God deur Christus die wêreld met Homself versoen het, en die mense hulle oortredinge nie toereken nie. Dié boodskap van versoening het Hy aan ons toevertrou.
“Ons tree dus op as gesante van Christus, en dit is God wat deur ons ‘n beroep op julle doen. Ons smeek julle namens Christus: Aanvaar die versoening met God, wat Hy bewerk het.
“Christus was sonder sonde, maar God het Hom in ons plek as sondaar behandel, sodat ons deur ons eenheid met Christus, deur God vrygespreek kan wees.”

“WE ARE AMBASSADORS OF CHRIST:”

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, the new has come.
“All this is from God, Who through Christ reconciled us to Himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,
“that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
“Therefore, we are ambassadors of Christ, God making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
“For our sake He made Him to be sin, Who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”

(2 Korinthiërs 5:9-16)

“ONS MOET ALMAL VOOR DIE REGTERSTOEL VAN CHRISTUS VERSKYN:”

“Maar of ons hier woon, of daar woon, ons het net een wens, en dit is om te lewe soos Hy dit wil hê.
“Ons moet immers almal voor die Regterstoel van Christus verskyn, sodat elkeen kan ontvang wat hy tydens sy aardse lewe gedoen het, of dit nou goed was of kwaad.
“Ons weet wat dit beteken om die Here te dien. Daarom probeer ons die mense oortuig. God ken ons bedoelinge, en ek vertrou dat julle ook van ons bedoelinge oortuig is.
“Ons prys onsself nie opnuut by julle aan nie. Ons gee julle juis eerder aanleiding om trots te wees op ons, sodat julle ‘n antwoord kan hê vir dié wat trots is op die uiterlike, en nie op die innerlike nie.
“As ons in geestes-vervoering was, was dit vir God; en as ons by ons verstand is, is ons dit vir julle.
“ Die liefde van Christus dring ons, omdat ons tot die insig gekom het, dat EEN vir almal gesterwe het, en dít beteken dat almal gesterwe het.
“En Hy het vir almal gesterwe, sodat dié wat lewe, nie meer vir hulleself moet lewe nie, maar vir Hom wat vir hulle gesterf het, en uit die dood opgewek is.
“Ons beoordeel dus van nou af niemand meer volgens menslike maatstaf nie. Al het ons Christus vroeër volgens menslike maatstaf beoordeel, nou beoordeel ons Hom nie meer so nie.”

“WE MUST ALL APPEAR BEFORE THE JUDGEMENT SEAT OF CHRIST:”

“So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please Him.
“For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
“Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are, is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience.
“We are not commending ourselves to you again, but giving you cause to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast about outward appearance and not about what is in the heart.
“For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
“For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: That ONE Has died for all, therefore all have died;
“and He died for all, that those who live, might no longer live for themselves, but for Him, Who for their sake died and was raised.
“From now on therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh, we regard Him thus no longer.”

(2 Korinthiërs 5:1-8)

“ONS LEEF DEUR GELOOF, EN NIE DEUR TE SIEN NIE:”

Ons weet dat, wanneer ons aardse woning wat maar ‘n tent is, afgebreek word, ons ‘n vaste gebou in die hemel het. Dit is ‘n woning wat nie deur mense gemaak is nie, maar deur God, en dit bly ewig staan.
“Terwyl ons in die tentwoning leef, sug ons, want ons verlang daarna dat ons woning uit die hemel ons sal oordek.
“Ons wil nie ontklee wees en naak voor God staan nie.
“Ons wat nog in die tentwoning is, sug en voel bedruk, omdat ons nie van die aardse liggaam afstand wil doen nie; ons wil die hemelse bo-oor die aardse aantrek, sodat wat sterflik is, verteer kan word deur die lewe.
“Hy wat ons vir hierdie oorgang voorberei het, is God. As waarborg hiervan, het Hy ons Sy Gees gegee.
“Daarom is ons altyd vol moed. Ons weet dat, solank as ons in die liggaam bly, ons nog nie by die Here woon nie,
“want ons lewe deur geloof, nie deur te sien nie.
“Ons is vol moed, en sou liewer ons verblyf wil verlaat en by die Here gaan woon.”

“WE WALK BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT:”

For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens,
“for in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling,
“if indeed by putting it on, we may not be found naked.
“For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdened – not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal, may be swallowed up by life.
“He Who Has prepared us for this very thing, is God, Who Has given us His Spirit as guarantee.
“So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body, we are away from the Lord,
“for we walk by faith, not by sight.
“Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.”
