(2 Korinthiërs 8:11-18) 

“DIE OORVLOED WAT JULLE NOU HET, MOET HULLE HELP:”

1. “Maak die werk nou ook klaar. Die ywer om uit julle beskikbare middele die insameling af te handel, moet net so groot wees as die gewilligheid waarmee julle dit begin het. 
2. “As die goeie wil daar is, en iemand gee volgens wat hy het, neem God die gawe aan. Hy verwag nie van enigiemand wat hy nie het nie. 
3. “Ek bedoel nie dat julle gebrek moet ly om ander te kan help nie, maar sodat daar ewewig sal wees, 
4. “moet julle wat nou oorvloed het, dié help wat gebrek ly. Dan, wanneer hulle weer oorvloed het, en julle gebrek ly, kan hulle julle weer help. So kom daar ewewig. 
5. “Daar staan ook geskrywe: ‘+Dié met baie, het nie te veel gehad nie, en dié met ‘n bietjie, nie te min nie.’+
6. “Ons dank God dat Hy Titus net so ywerig gemaak het om julle te help, as wat ons is. 
7. “Hy het nie net ons versoek verwelkom nie, maar in sy groot ywer ook uit eie beweging na julle toe vertrek. 
8. “Saam met hom stuur ons die broer wat in al die Gemeentes geprys word, vir die bevordering van die Evangelie.”

“YOUR ABUNDANCE AT THE PRESENT TIME SHOULD SUPPLY THEIR NEED:”

1. “So now finish doing it as well, so that your readiness in desiring it be matched by your completing it, out of what you have. 
2. “For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have. 
3. “For I do not mean that others should be eased, and you burdened, but that as a matter of fairness,
4. “your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness. 
5. “As it is written: ‘+Whoever gatherered much had nothing left over, and whoever gathered little had no lack.’+
6. “But thanks be to God, Who put into the heart of Titus the same earnest care I have for you. 
7. “For he not only accepted our appeal, but being himself very earnest he is going to you of his own accord. 
8. “With him we are sending the brother who is famous among all the Churches, for his preaching of the Gospel.”

(2 Korinthiërs 8:1-10) 

“JULLE KEN DIE GENADE VAN ONS HERE JESUS CHRISTUS:”

1. “Broers, ons wil hê julle moet weet van die Genade wat die gemeentes in Masedonië van God ontvang het. 
2. “Al was hulle swaar beproef deur verdrukking, hulle blyskap was oorvloedig; en al was hulle baie arm, hulle was ryk in hulle oorvloedige vrygewigheid. 
3. “Ek verseker julle hulle het na vermoë, ja bo vermoë bygedra. 
4. “Uit eie beweging het hulle by ons daarop aangedring om te mag deel in die liefdeswerk van hulpverlening aan die gelowiges in Judea. 
5. “Dit was meer as wat ons verwag het, want eers het hulle hulleself aan die Here gegee, en toe aan ons. Dit is soos God dit wil. 
6. “Daarom het ons vir Titus versoek om hierdie liefdeswerk, waarmee hy vroeër by julle begin het, nou ook te voltooi. 
7. “Aangesien julle alles in oorvloed het: Geloof, die gawe om julle woord te doen, kennis van God, onbeperkte ywer, en ons liefde vir julle, wees dan ook in hierdie liefdeswerk oorvloedig. 
8. “Ek gee nie ‘n opdrag nie, maar ek wys julle op die ywer van ander, om daardeur die opregdheid van julle liefde te toets. 
9. “Julle ken die Genade van ons Here Jesus Christus: Hoewel Hy ryk was, het Hy ter wille van julle arm geword, sodat julle deur Sy armoede ryk kan word. 
10. “Nou wil ek julle net raad gee om julle te help. Julle was verlede jaar nie alleen die eerste wat iets gedoen het nie, julle was ook die eerste wat gewillig was om iets te doen.”

“YOU KNOW THE GRACE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST:”

1. “We want you to know brothers, about the Grace of God that Has been given among the Churches in Macedonia. 
2. “For in severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy, and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. 
3. “For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord, 
4. “begging us earnestly for the favour of taking part in the relief of the saints – 
5. “and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves to the Lord, and then by will of God to us. 
6. “Accordingly we urged Titus that as he had started, so he should complete among you this act of grace. 
7. “But as you excell in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you – see that you excel in this act of grace also. 
8. “I say this not as a command, but to prove by the earnestness of others that your love also is genuine. 
9. “For you know the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you by His poverty might become rich. 
10. “And in this matter I give my judgement: this benefits you, who a year ago started not only to do this work, but also to desire to do it.”

(2 Korinthiërs 7:11-16) 

“EK HET VOLKOME VERTROUE IN JULLE:”

1. “Kyk net wat die ervaring van droefheid volgens die Wil van God, aan julle gedoen het. Nou is daar by julle erns; meer nog, daar is verantwoording, ontsag, verlange, ywer en bestraffing van die kwaad. In elke opsig het julle bewys dat julle in hierdie opsig onskuldig is. 
2. “Dus, al het ek so aan julle geskrywe, was dit nie omdat iemand onreg gepleeg of onreg gely het nie, inteendeel, ek wou hê dat julle voor God tot besef moes kom van hoeveel julle vir ons omgee. 
3. “Juis daarom is ons nou so bly. Ons is nie net bemoedig nie, maar ook besonder bly dat Titus so gelukkig is; julle almal het hom gemoedsrus gegee. 
4. “Ek het by hom ‘n bietjie met julle gespog, en julle het my nie teleurgestel nie. Soos ons altyd die waarheid met julle gepraat het, so blyk dit nou dat dit ook die waarheid was toe ons by Titus met julle gespog het. 
5. “En sy toegeneëntheid teenoor julle word al sterker as hy daaraan dink hoe almal gehoorsaam was, en hoe julle hom met eerbied en ontsag ontvang het. 
6. “Ek is baie bly dat ek in elke opsig op julle kan reken.”

“I HAVE COMPLETE CONFIDENCE IN YOU:”

1. “For what earnestness this Godly grief has produced in you, but also what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what punishment! At every point you have proved yourselves innocent in this matter. 
2. “So, although I wrote to you, it was not for the sake of the one who did the wrong, nor for the sake of the one who suffered the wrong, but in order that your earnestness for us might be revealed to you in the sight of God. 
3. “Therefore we are comforted. And besides our own comfort, we rejoiced still more at the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all. 
4. “For whatever boasts I made to him about you, I was not put to shame. But just as everything we said to you was true, so also our boasting before Titus has proved true. 
5. “And his affection for you is even greater, as he remembers the obedience of you all, how you received him with fear and trembling. 
6. “I rejoice, because I have complete confidence in you.”

(2 Korinthiërs 7:1-10) 

GOD BEUR NEERSLAGTIGES OP: 

1. “Geliefdes, hierdie belofte is ook vir ons. Laat ons, ons dan reinig van alles wat liggaam en gees verontreinig, en ons in gehoorsaamheid aan God, volkome aan Hom toewy. 
2. “Maak vir ons plek in julle harte. Ons het niemand onreg aangedoen nie, ons het niemand benadeel nie, ons het niemand uitgebuit nie. 
3. “Ek sê dit nie om julle te beskuldig nie; ek het tog al vantevore gesê dat julle in ons harte is, om mee saam te lewe en te sterwe. 
4. “Ek is baie openhartig met julle; ek is ook baie trots op julle. In al ons sorge is ek vol moed en oorstelp van blydskap. 
5. “Toe ons in Masedonië gekom het, het ons geen rus of duurte gehad nie. Van alle kante was daar druk op ons: van buite onenigheid, van binne, sorge. 
6. “Maar God wat die neerslagtiges opbeur, het ons ook opgebeur deur die koms van Titus,
7. “en nie net deur sy koms nie, maar ook omdat julle hom opgebeur het. Hy het vertel van julle begeerte om ons te sien, en dat julle jammer is oor wat gebeur het, en my nou ywerig verdedig. Dit alles het my nog blyer gemaak. 
8. “Al het ek julle ook deur my brief hartseer gemaak, is ek nie daaroor jammer nie. Miskien was ek tog jammer toe ek sien dat daardie brief julle hartseer gemaak het, al was dit net vir ‘n kort rukkie.  
9. “Nou is ek egter bly, nie omdat ek julle hartseer gemaak het nie, maar omdat ek julle so hartseer gemaak het, dat julle tot inkeer gekom het. Julle was immers hartseer, soos God dit wou hê. Ons het julle dus in geen opsig benadeel nie, 
10. “want droefheid volgens die wil van God, bring bekering wat tot redding lei, en daaroor was niemand nog ooit jammer nie. Daarteenoor, bring droefheid uit wêreldse oorwegings, die dood.”

GOD COMFORTS THE DOWNCAST:

1. “Since we have these promises beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God. 
2. “Make room in your hearts for us. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have taken advantage of no one. 
3. “I do not say this to condemn you, for I said before that you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together. 
4. “I am acting with great boldness towards you; I have great pride in you; I am filled with comfort. In all our affliction, I am overflowing with joy. 
5. “For even when we came into Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were afflicted at every turn – fighting without, and fear within. 
6. “But God, Who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus,
7. “and not only by his coming, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted by you, as he told us of your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced still more. 
8. “For even if I made you grieve with my letter, I do not regret it – though I did regret it, for I see that my letter grieved you, though only for a while. 
9. “As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a Godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us. 
10. “For Godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.”

MOENIE MET ONGELOWIGES IN DIESELFDE JUK TREK NIE: 

1. “Ons het openhartig met julle gepraat, Korintiërs. Ons harte is vir julle wyd oop. 
2. “Ons het nie ons harte vir julle gesluit nie; julle het julle harte vir ons gesluit. 
3. “Ek praat met julle as my kinders. Doen aan ons wat ons aan julle gedoen het: Maak julle harte ook wyd oop. 
4. “Moenie met ongelowiges in dieselfde juk trek nie. Hoe kan daar vennootskap wees tussen reg en onreg? Hoe kan daar gemeenskap wees tussen lig en duisternis? 
5. “Hoe kan daar eenstemmigheid wees tussen Christus en Belial? Hoe kan ‘n gelowige dieselfde belange hê as ‘n ongelowige?
6. “Hoe kan ‘n ooreenkoms tot stand kom tussen die tempel van God en afgode? Ons is immers die tempel van die Lewende God! Dit is soos God gesê het: ‘+Ek sal onder hulle woon en wandel, en Ek sal hulle God wees, en hulle sal my volk wees.
7. “‘+Daarom, gaan van hulle af weg, en sonder julle af,’+ Sê die Here:
8. “‘+En moenie wat onrein is, aanraak nie. Dan sal Ek julle aanneem, en Ek sal vir julle ‘n Vader wees, en julle sal vir My seuns en dogters wees,’+ sê die Here, die Almagtige.”

BE NOT UNEQUALLY YOKED WITH UNBELIEVERS: 

1. We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians; our hearts are wide open. 
2. “You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections. 
3. “In return (I speak as to children) widen your hearts also. 
4. “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 
5. “What accord Has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? 
6. “What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the Living God; as God said: ‘+I Will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I Will be their God, and they shall be My people. 
7. “‘+Therefore, go out from their midst, and be separate from them,’+ says the Lord: ‘+And touch no unclean thing; then I Will welcome you, 
8. “‘+and I Will be a Father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to Me ‘+ says the Lord Almighty.”
