(Handelinge 8:1-8)

DAAR WAS GROOT BLYDSKAP IN DAARDIE STAD:

Saulus het saamgestem met die teregstelling van Stefanus. ‘n Hewige vervolging van die Kerk in Jerusalem het daardie dag begin.
Al die gelowiges, behalwe die apostels het uitgewyk na die gebiede van Judea en Samaria. (Godvresende mense het Stefanus begrawe, en hulle het baie oor hom getreur.)
Saulus het die Kerk oral probeer vernietig. Hy het van huis tot huis gegaan, mans en vrouens laat uitsleep, en in die tronk laat sit.
Gelowiges wat uit Jerusalem gevlug het, het sover as wat hulle gegaan het, die “Goeie Nuus” omtrent Jesus verkondig.
Filippus het byvoorbeeld na die stad Samaria gegaan, en die Samaritane van Christus vertel.
Toe die mense hoor wat Filippus verkondig, en die wonders sien wat hy doen, het hulle aandagtig na sy boodskap geluister.
Onrein geeste het met groot geskreeu uit baie mense uitgegaan. En baie wat verlam en kreupel was, is gesond gemaak.
Daar was groot blydskap in daardie stad.

THERE WAS MUCH JOY IN THAT CITY:

Saul approved of Stephen’s execution. And there arose on that day a great persecution against the Church in Jerusalem. And they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.
Devout men buried Stephen and made great lamentation over him.
But Saul was ravaging the Church, and entering house after house, he dragged off men and women and committed them to prison.
Those who were scattered, went about preaching the Word, about Jesus.
Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and proclaimed to them the Christ.
And the crowds with one accord paid attention to what was being said by Philip. And when they heard him and saw the signs that he did, they believed.
For unclean spirits, crying out with a loud voice, came out of many who had them. And many who were paralyzed or lame were healed.
There was much joy in that city.

“HERE JESUS ONTVANG MY GEES:”

Die Joodse leiers was woedend oor Stefanus se aanklag, en hulle het hulle woede gewys.
Maar Stefanus, vol van die Heilige Gees, het aanhou opkyk na die hemel, en die heerlikheid van God gesien. Hy het ook Jesus in die regeer-posisie reg langs God sien staan.
“Kyk!” Het hy uitgeroep: “Ek sien die hemel òòp, en die Seun van die mens in die regeer-posisie reg langs God staan!”
Hulle het egter hulle ore toegedruk en hom doodgeskreeu. Soos een man het hulle toe op Stefanus afgestorm.
Hulle het hom uit die stad gesleep en hom met klippe doodgegooi Die amptelike getuies het hulle klere uitgetrek en by die voete van ‘n jong man, met die naam Saulus neergesit.
Terwyl hulle besig was om Stefanus te stenig, het hy gebid: “Here Jesus, ontvang my gees.”
Hy het op sy knieë neergesak en hard uitgeroep: “Here, moenie hierdie sonde teen hulle hou nie!” Met hierdie woorde het hy gesterf.

“LORD JESUS RECEIVE MY SPIRIT:”

When they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth at Stephen.
But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the Glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
And he said: “Behold! I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing at the right hand of God.”
But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears, and rushed together at him.
Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.
And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out: “Lord Jesus receive my spirit!”
And falling to his knees, he cried out with a loud voice: “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” And when he had said this, he fell asleep in death.

DIT WAS SALOMO WAT DIE TEMPEL VIR GOD GEBOU HET:

“Ons voorgeslag het die tabernakel by hulle in die woestyn gehad. Die tabernakel is gemaak presies volgens díe plan wst God aan Moses gewys het.
“Jare later, toe Josua díe gevegte aangevoer het, teen dié volke wat God uit die land verdryf het, het hulle die tabernakel saamgeneem na hulle nuwe land toe. Daar is dit gebruik tot in die tyd van koning Dawid.
“Dawid het God se Genade ervaar, en het gevra vir díe voorreg om ‘n tempel vir die huis van Jakob te bou.
“Dit was Salomo wat die tempel vir God gebou het.
“Die Allerhoogste woon egter nie in mens- gemaakte plekke nie. Soos die Profeet dit stel:
‘+Die hemel is My troon en die aarde is My voetbank. Enige tempel wat julle vir My bou, skiet ver tekort,’+ sê die Here. ‘+Kan julle ‘n blyplek vir My bou?
‘+Het Ek nie self al hierdie dinge gemaak nie?’+
“Julle hardkoppiges! In julle harte is julle nie-Jode. Julle is doof vir die Woord van God! Moet julle alewig die Heilige Gees weerstaan? Maar julle voorouers het dit gedoen, en julle doen dit nou ook!
“Noem een Profeet vir wie julle voorouers nie vervolg het nie. Hulle het selfs dié doodgemaak wat die koms van díe Regverdige voorspel het – die Messias wat julle uitgelewer en vermoor het!
“Julle het die Wet van God nie uitgeleef nie, alhoewel julle dit deur bemiddeling van engele ontvang het.”

IT WAS SOLOMON WHO BUILT A HOUSE FOR HIM:

“Our brothers had the tent of witness in the wilderness, just as He Who spoke to Moses, directed him to make it. According to the pattern that he had seen.
“Our fathers in turn brought it in with Joshua, when they dispossessed the nations that God drove out before our fathers. So it was until the days of David,
“who found favor in the sight of God and asked to find a dwelling place for the God of Jacob.
“But it was Solomon who built a house for Him.
“Yet the Most High does not dwell in houses made by hands, as the Prophet says:
‘+Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool. What kind of house will you build for Me?’+ Says the Lord, ‘+or what is the place of My rest?
‘+Did not My hands make these things?’+
“You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit! As your fathers did, so do you.
“Which of the Prophets did your fathers not procecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, Whom you have now betrayed and murdered,
“you who received the Law, as delivered by angels, and did not keep it. “

“GOD SAL UIT JULLE EIE GELEDERE ‘N PROFEET SOOS EK LAAT VOORTKOM:”

“Só, deur die engel wat in die brandende doringbos aan hom verskyn het, het God juis hóm as leier en redder na die Israeliete toe gestuur. Dieselfde Moses vir wie die Israeliete verwerp het en toegesnou het: ‘Wie het jou ons leier en regter gemaak?’
“So het dit gekom dat Moses hulle uitgelei het. Dit het gepaard gegaan met baie wonders en tekens wat hy oor die verloop van veertig jaar in Egipte, die Rooisee en die woestyn gedoen het.
“Hierdie selfde Moses het vir die volk Israel gesê: ‘God sal uit julle eie geledere vir julle ‘n Profeet soos ek, laat voortkom.
“Dit is dieselfde Moses wat, toe die volk as Gemeente daar in die woestyn was, as tussenganger opgetree het tussen ons voorouers en die Engel wat op Sinaiberg met hom gepraat het. Hy het Lewende Woorde ontvang, om aan ons oor te dra.
“Ons voorouers het hom egter geignoreer, en hulle wou teruggaan Egipte toe.
“Toe het hulle vir Aäron gesê: ‘Maak vir ons gode wat ons kan lei, want hierdie Moses wat ons uit Egipteland uitgelei het – ons weet nie wat met hom gebeur het nie.’
“Hulle het toe ‘n afgodsbeeld soos ‘n kalf gemaak, en aan die afgod offers gebring. Hulle was baie ingenome met wat hulle gedoen het.
“Maar God het Sy rug op hulle gedraai en hulle laat begaan. Hulle het die son, die maan, en die sterre as hulle gode gedien! So staan dit in die Boek van die Profete geskryf: ‘+Was dit vir MY dat julle die offers gebring het gedurende die veertig jaar in die woestyn, Israel?
‘+Nee! Julle het net oë en ore gehad vir julle afgode: Die heiligdom van Molek, en die stergod Refan, die beelde wat julle gemaak het om te aanbid. Daarom sal Ek julle as gevangenes ver weg stuur, tot anderkant Babilon.’+”

“This Moses whom they rejected: Saying: ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’ This man God sent as both ruler and redeemer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the burning bush.
“This man led them out, performing wonders and signs in Egypt and at the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.
“This is the Moses who said to the Israelites: ‘God Will raise up for you a Prophet like me, from your brothers.’
“This is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel, Who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and with our fathers. He received living oracles to give to us.
“Our fathers refused to obey him, but thrust him aside, and in their hearts they returned to Egypt,

“Soos die tyd dat God Sy belofte aan Abraham sou vervul, nader gekom het, het ons volk in Egipte tot ‘n groot getal aangegroei.
“‘n Nuwe koning, wat niks van Josef geweet het nie, het egter in Egipte aan bewind gekom.
“Hierdie koning het ‘n slinkse plan teen ons mense beraam. Hy het ons voorouers verplig om hulle babatjies buite aan hulle lot oor te laat, sodat hulle sou sterf.
“In hierdie tyd is Moses gebore, en hy was besonder mooi. Sy ouers het hom drie maande lank tuis versorg.
“Toe hulle hom uiteindelik buite aan sy lot moes oorlaat, het die Farao se dogter hom gevind, en sy het hom as haar eie seun grootgemaak.
“Moses is opgelei in al die wysheid van die Egiptenaars, en hy het met woord en daad presteer.
“Op veertig-jarige leeftyd, het hy besluit om te gaan kyk hoe dit met sy mense, die volk van Israel gaan.
“Tydens sy besoek het hy gesien hoe ‘n Egiptenaar een van die Israeliete aanrand, en hy het die slagoffer gaan help. Tydens sy vergelding het hy die Egiptenaar doodgemaak.
“Hy het gemeen sy mense sou begryp dat God hom gestuur het om hulle te verlos, maar hulle het nie.”

“But as the time of the promise drew near, which God had granted to Abraham, the people increased and multiplied in Egypt,
“until there arose over Egypt another king, who did not know Joseph.
“He dealt shrewdly with our race, and forced our fathers to expose their infants, so that they would not be kept alive.
“At this time Moses was born; and he was beautiful in God’s sight. He was brought up for three months in his father’s house,
“and when he was exposed, Pharaoh’s daughter adopted him and brought him up as her own son.
“Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was mighty in his words and deeds.
“When he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brothers, the children of Israel.
“And seeing one of them being wronged, he defended the oppressed man, and avenged him by striking down the Egyptian.
“He supposed that his brothers would understand that God was giving them salvation by his hand, but they did not understand.”

STEFANUS SE TOESPRAAK:

Die hoofpriester vra toe vir Stefanus: ‘Is hierdie aanklagte waar?’
Toe antwoord Stefanus: “Mede-gelowiges, luister na my! Ons Glorieryke God het in Mesopotamië aan ons voorvader Abraham verskyn, voordat hy Haran toe is.
God het vir hom gesê: “Verlaat jou geboorteland en jou familie, en gaan na die land wat Ek vir jou sal wys.”
“Abraham het toe die land van die Galdeërs verlaat en in Haran gaan woon. Na sy pa se dood het God hom daarvandaan laat verhuis na hierdie land waar julle nou woon.
“God het hom geen eiendom as erfdeel hier gegee nie. Selfs nie ‘n vierkante meter nie. God het egter belowe dat die hele land syne en sy nageslag s’n sal wees, al het hy toe nog geen kind gehad nie.
“God het egter ook gesê dat sy nageslag as uitlanders sal woon in ‘n vreemde land, waar hulle vier honderd jaar as slawe mishandel sal word.
“’Maar Ek sal die nasie straf wat hulle as slawe laat werk,” het God gesê, en uiteindelik wegtrek en My op hierdie plek aanbid.’
“God het in daardie tyd vir Abraham die verbond gegee, waarvan die besnydenis die teken is. So het dit gekom dat Abraham sy seun Isak besny het toe hy agt dae oud was. Isak het dieselfde gedoen metJakob, en Jakob met die twaalf stamvaders.”

STEPHEN’S SPEECH:

And the High Priest said: ‘Are these things so?’
And Stephen said: “ Fathers and brothers hear me: The God of Glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia before he lived in Haran,
“and said to him: “Go out from your land and from your kindred, and go into the land that I Will show you.’
“Then he went out from the land of the Chaldeans and lived in Haran. And after his father died, God removed him from there into this land in which you are now living.
“Yet He gave him no inheritance in it, not even a foot’s length, but promised to give it to him as a possession and to his offspring after him, though he had no child.
“And God spoke to this effect – that his offspring would be sojourners in a land, belonging to others, who would enslave them and afflict them four hundred years.
“‘But I will judge the nation that they served,”said God: ‘and after that they shall come out and worship Me in this place.”
And He gave them the Covenant of circumcision. And so Abraham became the father of Isaac, and circumcised him on the eighths day. And Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob of the twelve patriarchs.”

HIS FACE WAS LIKE THE FACE OF AN ANGEL:

(Handelinge 6:8-15)

SY GESIG HET GESKITTER SO DIE VAN ‘N ENGEL:

Stefanus, ‘n man vol van God se genade en krag, het wonders en groot tekens onder die mense gedoen.
Op ‘n dag het ‘n aantal lede van die sogenaamde ‘Sinagoge van die Vrygelate Slawe,’ met hom in gesprek getree. Hulle was Jode wat van Sirene en Aleksandrië en van die provinsies Silisië en Asië gekom het.
Hulle was was egter nie opgewasse teen die wysheid en die Gees waarmee Stefanus gepraat het nie.
Toe het hulle mans omgekoop om oor Stefanus te jok en te sê: ‘Ons het hom beledigende dinge teen Moses, en selfs teen God hoor sê.’
Op hierdie manier het hulle dit reggekry om die skares en die familie-hoofde en die skrifkenners op te sweep. Hulle het Stefanus gearresteer, en ħom voor die Joodse Raad gebring.
Die valse getuies het gesê: ‘Hierdie man hou aan om afbrekend van die tempel, en van die Wet van Moses te praat.
‘Ons het hom regtig hoor sê dat hierdie Jesus van Nasaret die tempel sal verwoes en die tradisies wat Moses vir ons gegee het, sal verander.’
Al die raadslede het stip na Stefanus gekyk, en gesien dat sy gesig soos dié van ‘n engel skitter.

HIS FACE WAS LIKE THE FACE OF AN ANGEL:

And Stephen, full of Grace and Power, was doing great wonders and signs among the people.
Then some of those who belonged to the ‘Synagogue of the Freedmen, (as it was called), and of the Cyrenians, and of the Alexandrians, and of those from Cilicia and Asia, rose up and disputed with Stephen.
But they could not withstand the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking.
Then they secretly instigated men who said: ‘We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.’
And they stirred up the people and the elders and the scribes, and they came upon him and seized him and brought him before the council,
and they set up false witnesses who said: ‘This man never ceases to speak words against this Holy place and the Law,
for we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place, and will change the customs that Moses delivered to us.’
And gazing at him, all who sat in the council saw that his face was like the face of an angel.

THEY WERE FILLED WITH WONDER AND AMAZEMENT:

(Handelinge 3:8-26)

HULLE WAS VERWONDERD EN VERBAAS:

Die man het opgespring en regop gestaan, en kon loop. Daarna het hy saam met Petrus en Johannes die tempel binne gegaan, terwyl hy geloop en gespring en God geprys het.
Al die mense het gesien dat hy loop en dat hy God prys;
maar toe hulle besef dat dit hy is wat voor die tempel by die Mooipoort gesit en bedel het, was hulle baie verbaas en verwonderd oor wat daar met hom gebeur het.
Die man het vir Petrus en Johannes bly volg, en die mense was almal verbaas en het na hulle toe gestroom in die Pilaargang van Salomo, soos dit genoem is.
Toe Petrus dit sien het hy hulle toegespreek: “Israeliete, hoekom is julle hieroor verbaas? Wat staar julle ons so aan asof ons eie krag of vroomheid gemaak het dat hierdie man loop?
“Die God van Abraham, van Isak en van Jakob, die God van ons voorvaders, het aan Jesus, Sy Dienaar, Goddelike eer gegee – aan Hom wat julle uitgelewer en voor Pilatus verwerp het, toe hy beslis het dat Hy vrygelaat moes word.
“Hy was Heilig en Opreg, maar julle het Hom verwerp en gevra dat daar vir julle ‘n moordenaar begenadig moet word.
“Sò het julle Hom, die Leidsman na die Lewe toe, doodgemaak, maar God het Hom uit die dood opgewek, en daarvan is ons getuies.
“Deur die geloof in Sy Naam het Hy die bene van hierdie man, wat julle sien en ken, sterk gemaak. Die geloof wat van Hom kom, het die man volkome herstel, hier voor julle almal.
“Nou weet ek broers, dat julle net soos julle leiers, in onkunde gehandel het.
“Tog het God reeds vroeër by die monde van al die Profete aangekondig dat die Christus sou ly. So het Hy dit nou laat gebeur.
“Daarom, bekeer julle en kom tot inkeer. Dan sal God julle sondes uitwis.
“En dan sal daar tye van verkwikking van die Here af kom. En Hy sal Jesus stuur, wat vooraf vir julle as die Christus aangewys is.
“Hy moet in die hemel bly totdat God alles nuut gemaak het. Dit het God reeds lank gelede deur Sy heilige Profete gesê.
“Moses het ook gesê: ‘Die Here julle God sal uit julle eie geledere ‘n Profeet soos ek laat voortkom. Gehoorsaam Hom in alles wat Hy vir julle sal sê.
“‘Elkeen wat nie hierdie Profeet gehoorsaam nie, moet van die volk afgesny word.’
“En al die Profete van
Samuel af en daarna, almal wat opgetree het, het ook aangekondig wat in hierdie tyd sal gebeur.
“Die dinge waarvan die Profete gepraat het, is vir julle bedoel, en julle het deel aan die verbond wat God met julle voorvaders gesluit het. Hy het vir Abraham gesê: ‘+Jou nakomelinge sal vir al die volke van die aarde tot ‘n seën wees.’+

(Acts 3:8-26)

THEY WERE FILLED WITH WONDER AND AMAZEMENT:

And leaping up, the man stood, and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.
And all the people saw him walking and praising God,
and recognized him as the one who sat at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, asking for alms. And they were filled with amazement and wonder at what had happened to him.
While he clung to Peter and John, all the people, utterly astounded, ran together to them in the portico called Solomon’s.
And when Peter saw it, he addressed the people: “Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or piety we have made him walk?
“The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the Lord of our fathers, glorified His servant Jesus, Whom you delivered over and denied, in the presence of Pilate, when he decided to release Him,
“But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,
“and you killed the Author of Life, Whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.
“And by faith in His Name, – has made this man strong, whom you see and know, and the faith that is through Jesus Has given the man this perfect health, in the presence of you all.
“And now brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did all your rulers.
“But what God foretold by the mouth of the Prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He thus fulfilled.
“Repent therefore and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out,
“that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,
“Whom heaven must receive, until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy Prophets long ago.
“Moses said: ‘The Lord GOD Will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to Him in whatever He tells you.
“‘And it shall be that every soul that does not listen to that Prophet, shall be destroyed from the people.’
“And all the Prophets who have spoken, from Samuel, and those who came after him, also proclaimed these days.
“You are the sons of the Prophets and of the Covenant that God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham: ‘+And in your offspring shall all your families of the earth be blessed.’+
“God, having raised up His servant, sent Him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.”

(Handelinge 3:1-7)

SY VOETE EN ENKELS HET ONMIDDELLIK GESOND EN STERK GEWORD:

Petrus en Johannes was op pad een middag tempel toe.
Net toe word daar ‘n man aangedra, wat van sy geboorte af lam was. Sy mense het hom elke dag by die tempelpoort, wat Mooipoort genoem is, neergesit om by die tempel-gangers te bedel.
Toe hy vir Petrus en Johannes sien, net voor hulle by die tempel ingaan, het hy hulle iets gevra.
Petrus en Johannes kyk hom toe stip aan, en Petrus sê vir hom: “Kyk na ons!”
Toe kyk die man na hulle, in die hoop dat hy iets van hulle gaan kry.
Maar Petrus sê vir hom: “Goud en silwer het ek nie, maar wat ek het, gee ek vir jou: In die Naam van Jesus Christus van Nasaret, staan op en loop!”
Hy vat toe die man se regterhand en help hom op, en onmiddellik het sy voete en enkels sterk geword.

HIS FEET AND ANKLES WERE MADE STRONG:

Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer – the ninth hour.
And a man, lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple, that is called the ‘Beautiful Gate,’ to ask alms of those entering the temple.
Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms.
And Peter directed his gaze upon him, as did John, and said: “Look at us!”
And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them.
But Peter said: “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have, I give to you: In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”
And he took him by the right hand and raised him up. And immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.

DIE GETAL GELOWIGES HET AANGEGROEI TOT OMTRENT VYF DUISEND:

Petrus en Johannes was nog besig om met die mense te praat toe die priesters, die bevelvoerder van die tempelwag, en die Sadduseërs op Petrus-hulle afstorm.
Díe priesters en die ander was onthuts omdat die apostels die mense geleer het, en verkondig het dat die opstanding uit die dood deur Jesus se opstanding, ‘n werklikheid geword het.
Hulle het Petrus en Johannes gevange geneem, en hulle, omdat dit al laat was, in die tronk gesit tot die volgende dag.
Tog het baie van die mense wat hulle prediking gehoor het, gelowig geword. En die getal gelowiges het aangegroei tot omtrent vyf duisend.
Die volgende môre het die Raadslede, die familiehoofde en die skrifgeleerdes in Jerusalem vergader.
Ook die hoëpriesters Annas en Kajafas, en Johannes en Aleksander, en al die ander lede van die hoofpriesterlike familie was teenwoordig.
Hulle het die apostels voor hulle laat bring en hulle ondervra: ‘Deur watter krag en in wie se naam het julle dit gedoen?’
Toe het Petrus, vol van die Heiige Gees vir hulle gesê: “Raadslede van die volk, en familiehoofde,
“julle verhoor ons vandag oor ‘n weldaad aan ‘n siek man, en oor hoe hy gesond gemaak is.
“Julle almal en die hele volk Israel moet weet dat dit in die Naam van Jesus Christus van Nasaret is, dat hy gesond hier voor julle staan. Hierdie Jesus wat julle gekruisig het. Maar wat God uit die dood opgewek het.”

THE NUMBER OF THE MEN WHO BELIEVED CAME TO ABOUT FIVE THOUSAND:

And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them,
greatly annoyed with them because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
And they arrested them and they put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening.
But many of those who have heard the Word believed. And the number of the men came to about five thousand.
On the next day their elders and rulers and scribes gathered together in Jerusalem,
with Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all who were from the high priestly family.
And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired: ‘By what power or by what name did you do this?’
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers of the people and elders,
“If we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed –
“Let it be made known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Whom you crucified, Whom God raised from the dead, – by Him, this man is standing before you, well.”
