“WHAT GOD HAS MADE CLEAN, DO NOT CALL COMMON:”

Dinsdag 2 September 2025. 

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 10:9-21) 

WAT GOD REIN GEMAAK HET, MAG JY NIE ONREIN AG NIE: 

  1. Die volgende dag, toe Kornelius se afvaardiging al naby die dorp was, het Petrus dakstoep toe gegaan om te bid. Dit was teen twaalfuur die middag, 
  2. en hy het honger geword en wou eet. Terwyl hulle die ete gereed maak, het hy in geestes-vervoering geraak. 
  3. Hy het die hemel oop gesien, en iets soos ‘n  groot doek wat aan sy vier punte neergelaat word, en afkom grond toe. 
  4. In die doek was allerhande diere, reptiele en voëls. 
  5. ‘n Stem sê toe vir hom: ‘+Staan op Petrus, slag en eet.’+
  6. “Nooit nie Here,” het Petrus gesê. “Ek het nog nooit iets wat onrein is,  geëet nie!”
  7. Toe kom die stem weer: ‘.+Wat God rein gemaak het, mag jy nie onrein ag nie!’+
  8. Dit het drie keer gebeur. Toe is die doek weer in die hemel opgetrek. 
  9. Petrus was verdwaas. Wat kon die gesig tog beteken? Juis op daardie stadium kry die mans wat deur Kornelius gestuur is, die huis, en hulle staan by die voordeur. Hulle was op soek na die huis vsn Simon, 
  10. en vra toe of Simon met die noemnaam Petrus daar ‘n gas is. 
  11. Terwyl Petrus nog wonder oor die gesig, het die Gees vir hom gesê: ‘+Hier is drie mans wat jou soek. 
  12. ‘+Gaan ondertoe en moenie huiwer om saam met hulle te gaan nie, want Ek het hulle gestuur.’+
  13. Petrus het toe ondertoe gegaan en vir die mans gesê : “Hier is ek. Dis vir my wat julle soek. Waarom is julle hier?”

(Acts 10:9-21)

“WHAT GOD HAS MADE CLEAN, DO NOT CALL COMMON:”

  1. The next day, as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went on the housetop about the sixth hour to pray. 
  2. And he became hungry and wanted something to eat, but while they were preparing the food, he fell into a trance,
  3. and saw the heavens opened, and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its corners upon the earth. 
  4. In it were all kinds of animals and reptiles and birds of the air. 
  5. And there came a voice to him: ‘+’Rise Peter, kill and eat.’..+
  6. But Peter said: “By no means Lord, for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.” 
  7. And the voice came to him a second time: ‘.+What God Has made clean, do not call common!’+ 
  8. This happened three times, and the thing was taken up at once into heaven. 
  9. While Peter was inwardly perplexed as to what the vision that he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for SImon Peter’s house, stood at the gate, 
  10. and called out to ask whether Simon who was called Peter was lodging there. 
  11. And while Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him: ‘+Behold, these men are looking for you. 
  12. ‘+Rise and go down and accompany them without  hesitation, because I Have sent them.’+
  13. And Peter went down to the men and said: “I am the one you are looking for. What is the reason for your coming?”

AND NOW, SEND MEN TO JOPPA:

Maandag 1 September 2025. 

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 10:1-8) 

STUUR MANNE NA JOPPA:

  1. in Sesarea was daar ‘n Romeinse weermag-offisier met die naam Kornelius. ‘n Offisier oor honderd man, van die Italiaanse regiment.   
  2. Hy het toegewyd aan die God van Israel geleef en het ontsag vir Hom gehad, hy en sy hele huishouding. Hy het baie bydraes onder die Joodse volk gegee, en het deurentyd tot God gebid. 
  3. Een middag teen drie-uur, het hy in ‘n gesig duidelik ‘n engel van God na hom toe sien kom. Die engel sê toe: “Kornelius!” 
  4. Kornelius het hom aangestaar en bang geword en gevra: “Wat is dit Meneer?” Die engel het hom geantwoord:
  5. “Jou gebede, en wat jy vir die armes doen, het God opgeval. Stuur daarom nou dadelik mans na Joppe, en laat daar ‘n sekere Simon haal. Sy noemnaam is Petrus. 
  6. “Hy is ‘n gas by ‘n ander Simon, ‘n leerlooier. Sy huis is by die see. 
  7. Toe díe engel wat met hom gepraat het vertrek, het Kornelius twee van sy huiswerkers en een van sy lyfwagte, self ‘n soldaat wat aan God toegewy geleef het, geroep. 
  8. Hy het hulle alles vertel en hulle Joppe toe gestuur.

(Acts 10:1-8)

“AND NOW, SEND MEN TO JOPPA:”

  1. At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion of what was known as the Italian Cohort.
  2. A devout man who feared God with all his household, gave generously to the people, and prayed continually to God. 
  3. About the ninth hour of the day, he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God come in and say to him: “Cornelius!”
  4. He stared at him in terror and said: “What is it Lord?” And he said to him: “Your prayers and your alms have ascended as a memorial before God. 
  5. “And now, send men to Joppa, and bring one Simon, who is called Peter. 
  6. “He is lodging with one, Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea.”
  7. When the angel who spoke to him had departed, he called two of his servants and a devout soldier from among those who attended him. 
  8. And having related everything to them, he sent them to Joppa.

SHE BECAME ILL AND DIED:

(Handelinge 9:32-43)

SY HET SIEK GEWORD EN IS DOOD:

  1. Petrus het van plek tot plek gereis, en het op ‘n keer by die gelowiges in Lidda gekom. 
  2. Daar het hy ‘n man met die naam Eneas gekry, wat verlam en al agt jaar bedlêend was. 
  3. “Eneas,” het Petrus vir hom gesê: “Jesus Christus maak jou gesond! Staan op en rol jou bed op!” En hy het dadelik opgestaan. 
  4. Al die inwoners van Lidda en die Saron-vlakte het hulle tot die Here bekeer, toe hulle Eneas sien rondgaan. 
  5. In Joppe was daar ‘n gelowige vrou met die naam Tabita. (In Grieks is sy “Dorkas.”) Sy was altyd  besig om aan ander goed te doen, en armes te help. 
  6. Juis in hierdie tyd het sy siek geword, en is sy dood. Hulle het haar liggaam vir die begrafnis voorberei, en in ‘n bokamer neergelê. 
  7. Met Lidda naby Joppe, het die gelowiges gehoor dat Petrus daar is. Hulle het toe twee mans na hom toe gestuur met die versoek: “Kom asseblief sonder uitstel na ons toe.”
  8. Petrus is dadelik saam met hulle terug. Toe hy daar kom, het hulle hom bokamer toe gevat. Al die weduwees het by hom kom staan, en snikkend vir hom die verskillende soorte klere gewys wat Dorkas gemaak het, toe sy nog by hulle was. 
  9. Petrus het almal egter uitgestuur en toe het hy gekniel en gebid. Toe het hy na die liggaam gedraai en gesê: “Tabita staan op!” Sy het haar oë oopgemaak! Toe sy  Petrus sien, het sy regop gesit. 
  10. Hy het sy hand vir haar gegee en haar gehelp opstaan. Toe het hy die gelowiges en die weduwees geroep, en hulle gewys dat sy leef. 
  11. Hierdie gebeure het in die hele Joppe bekend geword. En baie het tot geloof in die Here gekom. 
  12. Petrus het ‘n hele aantal dae in Joppe gebly, by ‘n sekere Simon, ‘n leerlooier.

PEARL FOR EACH DAY:

(Acts 9:32-43)

SHE BECAME ILL AND DIED:

  1. As Peter went here and there among them all, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda. 
  2. There he found a man named Aeneas, bedridden for eight years, who was paralyzed. 
  3. And Peter said to him: “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; rise and make your bed.” And immediately he rose. 
  4. And all the residents of Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord. 
  5. There was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which translated means Dorcas. She was full of  good works and acts of charity. 
  6. In those days she became ill and died. And when they had washed her, they laid her in the upper room. 
  7. Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him: “Please come to us without delay.”
  8. So Peter rose and  went with them. And when he arrived, they took him to the upper room. All the widows stood beside him weeping, and showing tunics and other garments that Dorcas made, while she with them. 
  9. And Peter put them all outside, and knelt down and prayed; and turning to the body he said: “Tabitha, arise!” And she opened her eyes. And when she saw Peter, she sat up. 
  10. And he gave her his hand and raised her up. Then calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive. 
  11. And it became known throughout all Joppa. And many believed in the Lord. 
  12. And he stayed in Joppa for many days, with one, Simon, a tanner.

THEY WERE SEEKING TO KILL HIM:

Saterdag 30 Augustus 2025. 

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 9:26-31) 

HULLE HET PLANNE BERAAM OM HOM TE VERMOOR:

  1. Toe Saulus in Jerusalem aankom, het hy probeer om by die gelowiges aan te sluit. Maar almal was bang vir hom. Hulle kon nie glo dat hy ‘n gelowige is nie. 
  2. Barnabas het hom toe na die apostels toe gevat, en vir hulle vertel hoe Saulus op pad na Damaskus die Here gesien het. Barnabas het ook vertel dat die Here met Saulus gepraat het. En ook hoe hy in Damaskus openlik in die Naam van Jesus gepreek het. 
  3. Saulus het toe orals in Jerusalem saam met hulle rondgegaan, en openlik in die Naam van Jesus gepreek. 
  4. Hy het ook met Grieks-sprekende Jode gepraat en geredeneer, maar hulle het planne beraam om hom te vermoor. 
  5. Toe die gelowiges dit agterkom, het hulle hom Sesarea toe gevat  en hom vandaar na Tarsus toe weggestuur. 
  6. Die Kerk het deur die hele Judea, Galilea en Samaria vrede gehad. Die gelowiges is opgebou en het in ontsag vir die Here geleef, en hulle is deur die Heilige Gees versterk. Op hierdie manier het hulle getalle aangegroei.

(Acts 9:26-31) 

THEY WERE SEEKING TO KILL HIM: 

  1. And when Saul had come to Jerusalem, he attempted to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, for they did not believe that he was a disciple. 
  2. Barnabas took him to the apostles and declared to them, how on the road Saul had seen the Lord, Who spoke to him. And how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the Name of Jesus. 
  3. So Saul went in and out among them at Jerusalem, preaching boldly in the Name of the Lord. 
  4. And he spoke and disputed against the Hellenists, but they were seeking to kill him. 
  5. And when the brothers learned this, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him off to Tarsus. 
  6. So the Church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.

(Handelinge 9:19-27) 

SY VOLGELINGE HET HOM IN ‘N MANDJIE DEUR ‘N OPENING IN DIE STADSMUUR LAAT AFSAK:

  1. Saulus het toe kos geëet en sy kragte begin herwin. Hy het toe ‘n paar dae by die gelowiges in Damaskus gebly. 
  2. Hy het Jesus onmiddelik in die sinagoges begin verkondig – dat Hy die Seun van God is. 
  3. Almal wat hom gehoor het, was verbaas en het gesê: ‘Is dit nie die man wat Jesus se volgelinge in Jerusalem getreiter het nie? Dis mos presies waarvoor hy hierheen gekom het- om hulle geboeid voor die priester hoofde te bring’. 
  4. Saulus se prediking het al hoe kragtiger geword en het die Damaskus Jode in die war gebring, deur te bewys dat Jesus die Christus is. 
  5. Na etlike dae het hierdie Jode saamgesweer om Saulus te vermoor. 
  6. Hulle komplot het egter aan hom uitgelek. Dag en nag het hulle die stad se poorte dopgehou om hom te vermoor. 
  7. Maar sy volgelinge het hom in ‘n mandjie, deur ‘n opening in die stadsmuur laat afsak.

(Acts 9:19-27)

THEY LET HIM DOWN THROUGH AN OPENING IN THE WALL:

  1. And taking food, Saul was strengthened. For some days he was wIth the disciples at Damascus. 
  2. And immediately he proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, saying: “HE is the Son of God.”
  3. And all who heard him were amazed, and said: ‘Is this not the man who made havoc in Jerusalem of those who called upon this Name? And has he not come here for this purpose to bring them bound before the chief priests‘
  4. But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus, by proving that Jesus was the Christ. 
  5. When many days had passed, the Jews plotted to kill him. 
  6. But their plot became known to Saul. They were watching the gates day and night in order to kill him. 
  7. But his disciples took him by night and let him down through an opening in the wall, lovering him in a basket. 
  8. And when he had come to Jerusalem, he attempted to join the disciples, but they were afraid of him. For they did not believe that he was a disciple. 
  9. But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles and declared to them, how on the road he had seen the Lord, Who spoke to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the Name of Jusus.

“HE IS A CHOSEN INSTRUMENT OF MINE:”

Donderdag 28 Augustus 2025. 

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 9:9-19) 

“EK HET HOM AS INSTRUMENT UITGEKIES:”

  1. Hy was drie dae lank daar sonder om te sien, en hy het ook niks geëet of gedrink nie. 
  2. Daar was ‘n gelowige in Damaskus met die naam Ananias. Die Here het hom in ‘n gesig geroep: ‘+Ananias!’+ “Ja, Here,” het hy geantwoord.  
  3. Daarop sê die Here vir hom: ‘+Gaan nóú Reguit straat toe, na Judas se huis. Vra daar na Saulus van Tarsus. Want kyk, hy is besig om te bid. 
  4. ‘+Ek het hom in ‘n gesig laat sien dat ‘n man met die naam Ananias inkom, en sy hande op hom sit, sodat hy weer kan sien.’+
  5. Maar Ananias het geantwoord: “Here, ek het al by baie mense van hierdie man gehoor – watter kwaad hy die mense in Jerusalem aangedoen het!
  6. “En ons hoor hy het ‘n mandaat van die priesterhoofde om al die gelowiges hier in Damaskus te arresteer.”
  7. Die Here het egter vir hom gesê: ‘+Gaan doen wat ek sê, want Ek het Saulus as My ‘instrument uitgekies om My boodskap uit te dra na die volke en konings, en ook aan die volk Israel.
  8. ‘+Ek sal inderdaad Self vir hom wys hoeveel hy vir My moet ly.’+
  9. Ananias het toe vertrek en in daardie huis ingegaan. Hy het sy hande op Saulus gesit en gesê: “Broer Saul, die Here het my gestuur, Jesus wat aan jou verskyn het op pad hierheen. Hy het my gestuur sodat jy weer kan sien, en met die Heilige Gees vervul kan word.”
  10. Onmiddelik het iets soos skille van sy oë afgeval, en hy kon weer sien. Hy het opgestaan en is gedoop. 
  11. Hy het toe kos geëet en sy kragte begin herwin.

PEARL FOR EACH DAY:

(Acts 9:9-19) 

“HE IS A CHOSEN INSTRUMENT OF MINE:”

  1. And for three days Saul were without sight, and neither ate nor drank. 
  2. There was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision: ‘+Ananias,’+ and he said: “Here I am Lord!’
  3. And the Lord said to him: ‘+Rise and go to the street called: Straight, and at the house of Judas, look for a man of Tarsus, called Saul, for behold, he is praying.  
  4. ‘+And he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias, come in and lay his hands on him, so that he may regain his sight.’+
  5. But Ananias answered: ‘Lord, I have heard from many about this man. How much evil he has done to Your saints at Jerusalem. 
  6. “And here he has authority from the chief priests, to bind all who call on Your Name.”
  7. But the Lord said to him:  ‘+Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to carry My Name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel. 
  8. ‘+For I Will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of My Name.’+ 
  9. So Ananias departed and entered the house. And laying his hands on Saul, he said: “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus Who appeared to you on the road by which you came, Has sent me so that you may regain your sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
  10. And immediately, something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he rose and was baptized. 
  11. And taking food, he was strengthened.

SUDDENLY A LIGHT FROM HEAVEN SHONE AROUND HIM:

Woensdag 27 Augustus 2025. 

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 9:1-8) 

SKIELIK HET ‘N LIG UIT DIE HEMEL HOM OMSTRAAL:

  1. Intussen het Saulus met elke  asemteug dreigemente uitgespreek. Hy wou die volgelinge van die Here doodmaak. Hy het daarom na die hoëpriester toe gegaan. 
  2. Hy het briewe van hom aan die sinagoges in Damaskus gevra, waarin hulle versoek word om hom te help om diegene wat aan “Die Pad” behoort, mans en vrouens, op te spoor, en hulle geboeid na Jerusalem toe te bring. 
  3. Toe hy op sy sending naby Damaskus kom, het daar skielik ‘n lig uit die hemel hom omstraal. 
  4. Hy het op die grond neergeval en ‘n stem vir hom hoor sê: ‘+Saul, Saul, waarom vervolg jy My?’+
  5. “Wie is U Here?” Het Saulus gevra. ‘+Ek is Jesus,’+ antwoord Hy. ‘+Dis vir MY wat jy vervolg. 
  6. ‘+Staan nou op en gaan die stad in. Daar sal vir jou gesê word wat jou te doen staan.’+
  7. Die mans saam met hom was sprakeloos van verbasing. Hulle het die stem gehoor, maar niemand gesien nie. 
  8. Saulus het van die grond af opgestaan en alhoewel sy oë oop was, kon hy niks sien nie. Hulle is Damaskus in, terwyl sy reisgenote hom aan die hand lei.

PEARL FOR EACH DAY:

(Acts 9:1-8)

SUDDENLY A LIGHT FROM HEAVEN SHONE AROUND HIM: 

  1. But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest, 
  2. and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he find any belonging to “The Way”men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.  
  3. As he went on his way, he approached Damascus. Suddenly a light from Heaven shone around him. 
  4. And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him: ‘+Saul,Saul, why are you persecuting Me?’+
  5. And he said: “Who are You Lord?” And He said: ‘+I Am Jesus Whom you are persecuting.
  6. ‘+But rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.’+
  7. The men who were traveling with him, stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one. 
  8. Saul rose from the ground. and although his eyes were open, he saw nothing. So they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus.

“WHAT PREVENTS ME FROM BEING BAPTIZED?”

“WAAROM KAN EK NIE GEDOOP WORD NIE?”

  1. Vir Filippus het ‘n engel van die Here egter gesê: “Gaan Suid met die woestynpad wat van Jerusalem af Gasa toe loop.”
  2. Filippus het dit gedoen, en hy het die minister van finansies van Etiopië teengekom. Hy was ‘n ontmande in die hoë pos by die koningin van Etiopië. Hy het Jerusalem toe gekom om te aanbid, 
  3. en was nou op pad terug. Hy het op sy wa die Boek van die Profeet Jesaja gesit en lees. 
  4. Toe het die Gees vir Filippus gesê: ‘+Gaan loop langs sy wa.’+
  5. Filippus het nader gedraf en gehoor dat die man die Profeet Jesaja lees. Hy vra hom toe: “Verstaan u wat u lees?”
  6. Die Etiopiër het geantwoord: ‘Hoe kan ek, as niemand dit vir my verduidelik nie?’ Hy het Filippus toe mooi gevra om op te klim en by hom te kom sit. 
  7. Die Skrifdeel waarmee hy besig was, lui: ‘+Hy is gelei soos ‘n skaap na die slagplek, en soos ‘n Lam stil is by Sy skeerder, so het Hy Sy mond nie oopgemaak nie. 
  8. ‘+Hy is verneder en alle reg is Hom ontsê. Wie kan van Sy nageslag vertel? Want Sy lewe word van die aarde af weggevat.’+
  9. Die Etiopiër het toe vir Filippus gevra: ‘Praat die Profeet hier van homself, of van iemand anders?’
  10. Filippus het toe by hierdie Skrifgedeelte begin, en die Evangelie oor Jesus aan hom vertel. 
  11. Op pad kom hulle water teë. En die Etiopiër sê: ‘Kyk daar is water. 
  12. ‘Waarom kan ek nie gedoop word nie?’
  13. Hy het toe die wa laat stilhou, en hulle twee het in die water gegaan. En Filippus het hom gedoop. 
  14. Toe hulle uit die water opkom, het die Gees van die Here vir Filippus weggevat. Die Etiopiër het hom nie meer gesien nie, en hy het sy reis met blydskap voortgesit. 
  15. Toe Filippus hom weer kom kry, was hy in die stad Asdod. Hy het daarvandaan deur al die dorpe die Goeie Nuus verkondig, totdat hy in Sesarea aangekom het.

(Acts 8:26-40) 

“WHAT PREVENTS ME FROM BEING BAPTIZED:?”

  1. An angel of the Lord said to Philip: “Rise and go toward the South, to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is a desert place. 
  2. And he rose and went. And there was an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure. He had come to Jerusalem to worship,
  3. and was returning, seated in his chariot, and he was reading the Prophet Isaiah. 
  4. And the Spirit said to Philip: ‘+Go over and join this chariot.’+ 
  5. So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the Prophet, and asked: “Do you understand what you are reading?”
  6. And he said: ‘How can I, unless someone guides me?’ And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 
  7. The passage of Scripture that he was reading, was this: ‘.+Like a sheep He was led to the slaughter, and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so He opens not His mouth. 
  8. ‘+In His humiliation justice was denied Him. Who can describe His generation? For His life is taken away from the earth.’+
  9. And the eunuch said to Phillip: ‘About Whom, I ask you, does the Prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?’
  10. Then Philip, beginning with this Scripture, told him the Good News about Jesus. 
  11. And as they were going along the road, they came to some water. And the Eunuch said: ‘See, here is water! 
  12. ‘What prevents me from being baptized?’
  13. And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water.  And Philip baptized him. 
  14. And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, and went on his way rejoicing. 
  15. But Philip found himself at Azotus, and as he passed through, he preached the Gospel to all the towns, until he came to Caesarea.

“VOOR GOD IS JOU HART NIE REG NIE:”

  1. Petrus het hom egter geantwoord: “Mag jou geld saam met jou vernietig word, omdat jy dink dat hierdie gawe van God gekoop kan word!
  2. “Hier is nie plek vir jou nie, want voor God is jou hart nie reg nie.  
  3. “Bekeer jou van hierdie boosheid van jou en bid tot die Here. Miskien sal Hy jou bose planne vergewe.
  4. “Ek kan sien jy is vol bitterheid en deur sonde geboei.”
  5. ‘Bid julle tog vir my tot die Here!’ het Simon uitgeroep: ‘Dat hierdie verskriklike dinge nie met my gebeur nie!’
  6. Nadat Petrus en Johannes kragtig getuienis gelewer het, en die Woord van die Here in Samaria verkondig het, het hulle na Jerusalem toe teruggegaan. Op pad het hulle die Evangelie ook in baie Samaritaanse dorpies verkondig.

“YOUR HEART IS NOT RIGHT BEFORE GOD:”

  1. But Peter said to him: “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the Gift of God with money!
  2. “You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is not right before God. 
  3. “Repent therefore of this wickedness of yours. And pray to the Lord that if possible, the intent of your heart may be forgiven you. 
  4. “For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity.”
  5. Simon answered: ‘Pray for me to the Lord that nothing of what you have said may come upon me!’
  6. When they had testified and spoken the Word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the Gospel to many villages of the Samaritans.

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 8:9-19) 

HULLE IS NET IN DIE NAAM VAN DIE HERE JESUS GEDOOP: 

  1. In ‘n stad in Samaria het ‘n man met die naam Simon al vir jare díe inwoners met sy toorkunste beïndruk. Hy het daarop aanspraak gemaak dat hy iemand besonders was. 
  2. Almal, van die geringstes tot die belangrikstes het na hom verwys as: ‘Die grote, die krag van God.’
  3. Hulle het hom baie ernstig opgeneem, juis vanweë sy toorkunste. 
  4. Nou het die mense egter Filippus se Goeie Nuus oor die Konings-heerskappy van God en die Naam van Jesus Christus, in die geloof aanvaar. Gevolglik is baie mans en vrouens gedoop. 
  5. Selfs Simon het gelowig geword, en is gedoop. Hy het Filippus oral begin vergesel, en was verstom oor die wondertekens en groot  kragte wat hy gesien gebeur het. 
  6. Toe die apostels in Jerusalem hoor dat die mense in Samaria die Boodskap van God aanvaar het, het hulle Petrus en Johannes daarheen afgevaardig. 
  7. Toe hulle daar aankom, het hulle vir die nuwe gelowiges gebid, dat hulle die Heilige Gees mag ontvang. 
  8. Want die Heilige Gees het immers nog nie op een van hulle gekom nie,  want hulle was net in die Naam van die Here Jesus gedoop. 
  9. Petrus en Johannes het toe hulle hande op hierdie gelowiges gesit en hulle het die Heilige Gees ontvang. 
  10. Toe Simon sien dat die mense die Gees ontvang wanneer die apostels hulle hande op die Nuwe gelowiges sit, wou hy hierdie mag koop. 
  11. ‘Gee my ook hierdie mag,’ het hy gesê, sodat elkeen op wie ek my hande sit, die Heilige Gees kan ontvang.’

(Acts 8:9-19) 

THEY HAD ONLY BEEN BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS:

  1. But there was a man named Simon, who had previously practiced magic in the city and amazed the people in Samaria, saying he himself was something great. 
  2. They all paid attention to him, from the least to the greatest, saying: ‘This man is the power of God, that is called Great.’
  3. And they paid attention to him, because for a long time he amazed them with his magic. 
  4.  But when they believed Philip as he preached the Good News about the Kingdom of God, and the Name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 
  5. Even Simon himself believed, and after being baptized, he continued with Philip. And seeing great signs and miracles performed, he was amazed. 
  6. When the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the Word of God, they sent to them Peter and John, 
  7. who came down and prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit, 
  8. for He Had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus.
  9. Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. 
  10. When Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostle’s hands, he offered them money. 
  11. Saying: ‘Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay my hands, may receive the Holy Spirit.’
