PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 13:24-33) 

GOD HET HOM UIT DIE DOOD OPGEWEK:

Paulus gee verslag aan die mense in die Joodse sinagoge: 

1. “Voor Jesus se koms, het Johannes die Doper die bekerings-doop aan díe hele volk Israel verkondig. 
2. “En toe Johannes aan die einde van sy bediening gekom het, het hy gesê: ‘Dink julle miskien ek is die Messias? Nee, ek is nie! Die Messias kom na my. Ek is selfs nie werd om Sy sandale los te maak nie!’
3. “Geagte volksgenote, seuns uit die geslag van Abraham, en julle ander wat vir God ontsag het. Aan ons het God die boodskap van hierdie verlossing gestuur. 
4. “Die mense in Jerusalem en hulle leiers het die uitsprake van die Profete in vervulling laat gaan, deur Jesus tot die dood te veroordeel. Hulle het Hom nie herken nie, en ook nie besef dat dit Hy is oor Wie die Profete geskryf het nie, alhoewel dit elke Sabbat voorgelees word. 
5. “Hulle kon geen grond vir die doodsvonnis kry nie, maar nogtans het hulle Pilatus gevra om Hom te laat doodmaak. 
6. “Nadat hulle alles gedoen het wat oor Sy lyding in die Skrif geskryf staan, het hulle Hom van die kruis afgehaal en in ‘n grafkamer neergelê. 
7. “Maar God het Hom uit die dood opgewek. 
8. “Jesus het in die loop van baie dae aan die mense wat saam met Hom van Galilea na Jerusalem gegaan het, verskyn. Hierdie mense is nou sy getuies by die volk. 
9. “En nou verkondig ek en Barnabas hierdie Goeie Nuus aan julle: God het die belofte aan ons voorgeslagte waar laat word. 
10. “Hy het dit vir ons, hulle nageslag vervul,  deur Jesus te laat opstaan. So staan dit dan ook in die tweede Psalm oor Jesus geskryf: ‘+Jy is My Seun; Ek het Jou vandag verwek.’+

(Acts 13:24-33)

GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD:

Paul give account to the people in the Jewish synagogue. 

1. “Before the coming of Jesus, John the Baptist had proclaimed a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. 
2. “And as John was finishing his course, he said: ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not He, the Messiah. No, but behold, after me One is coming, the sandals of Whose feet I am not worthy to untie! 
3. “Brothers, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to us has been sent the message of this salvation. 
4. “For those who live in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they did not recognize Him, nor understand the utterances of the Prophets, which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning Him. 
5. “And though they found in Him no guilt worthy of death, they asked Pilate to have Him executed. 
6. “And when they had carried out all that was written of Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb. 
7. “But God raised Him from the dead, 
8. “and for many days, He appeared to those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now His witnesses to the people. 
9.  “And we bring you the Good News that what God promised to the fathers, 
10. “this He Has fulfilled to us, their children by raising Jesus, as also it is written in the second Psalm: ‘+You Are My Son, today I Have begotten You.’+

(Handelinge 13:13-23) 

HY HET NA ISRAEL ‘N VERLOSSER GEBRING, JESUS:

1. Paulus en sy reisgenote het weggevaar en by Perge in Pamfilië vasgemeer. Daar het Johannes Markus hulle verlaat en terug gegaan Jerusalem toe. 
2. Barnabas en Paulus het egter die reis van Perge af voortgesit. Hulle het in Antiogië in Pisidië aangekom. Op die Sabbatdag het hulle die sinagoge binne gegaan en gaan sit. 
3. Na die gebruiklike voorlesing van die Wet en die Profete, het die raadslede van die sinagoge hulle laat weet: ‘Broers, as julle vir ons ‘n Woord van bemoediging het, kom deel met ons!’
4. Paulus het opgestaan en met ‘n hand-beweging aandag gevra en gesê: “Geagte Israeliete en julle ander wat vir die ware God ontsag het, luister!
5. “Die God van hierdie volk Israel, het ons voorgeslag uitgekies, en hulle voorspoedig gemaak toe hulle in Egipte as Uitlanders gewoon het. Hy het hulle kragtig daarvandaan uitgelei. 
6. “Hy het hulle in die woestyn ongeveer 40 jaar lank geduldig verdra. 
7. “Daarna het Hy sewe nasies in Kanaān uitgewis, en hulle land as erfporsie aan hulle gegee.
8. “Dit alles het ongeveer 450 jaar geneem. Daarna het Hy rigters voorsien, tot die tyd van die Profeet Samuel. 
9. “Toe wou hulle ‘n koning hê, en God het Saul, die seun van Kis, ‘n man uit die stam van Benjamin, vir 40 jaar aan hulle gegee. 
10. Nadat God hom verwyder het, het Hy Dawid vir hulle as koning voorsien. Van hom het God getuig: ‘+Ek het Dawid, seun van Isai gekry, hy is ‘n man na My hart. Hy sal alles doen wat Ek wil hê.’+
11. Uit hierdie man se nageslag het God die Beloofde Verlosser vir Israel, naamlik Jesus, laat voortkom.

(Acts 13:13-23) 

HE HAS BROUGHT TO ISRAEL A SAVIOUR, JESUS:

1. Paul and his companions set sail from Paphos and came to Perga in Pamphylia. And John Mark left them and went back to Jerusalem. 
2. But they went on from Perga and came to Antioch in Pisidia. On the Sabbath day, they went into the synagogue and sat down. 
3. After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent a message to them, saying: ‘Brothers, if you have any Word of encouragement for the people, come and tell us!’
4. So Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said: “Men of Israel and you who fear God, listen:
5. “The God of this people Israel, chose our fathers and made the people great during their stay in the land of Egypt, and with uplifted arm He led them out of it. 
6. “And for about forty years He put up with them in the wilderness. 
7. “And after destroying several nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance. 
8. “All this took about 450 years. And after that He gave them Judges, until Samuel the Prophet. 
9. “Then they asked for a king. And God gave them Saul the son of Kish. A man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. 
10. “And when He Had removed him, He raised up David to be their king. Of whom He testified and said: ‘+I Have found in David the son of Jesse, a man after My heart. He will do all My will.’+
11. “Of this man’s offspring, God Has brought to Israel a Saviour, Jesus, as He Has promised.”

(Handelinge 12:18-24) 

‘N ENGEL VAN DIE HERE HET HERODES GETREF:

1. Toe dit dag word was daar groot ontsteltenis onder die soldate oor wat van Petrus geword het. 
2. Herodes Agrippa het hom laat soek. Toe hulle hom nie kon kry níe, het hy die wagte verhoor en bevel gegee dat hulle tereg gestel word. Hierna het Herodes van Judea na Sesarea toe gegaan, en ‘n tyd daar gebly. 
3. Herodes was destyds baie kwaad vir die mense van Tirus en Sidon. Daarom het hulle ‘n gesamentlike afvaardiging na hom toe gestuur met ‘n vredes-voorstel omdat hulle stede vir kos van Herodes se land afhanklik was. Hulle het Blastus, die koning se kamer bediende, oorgehaal om vir hulle ‘n oudiënsie by Herodes te reël. 
4. Op die vasgestelde dag het Herodes sy ampsklere aangetrek, op sy verhoog gaan sit en hulle in die openbaar toegespreek. 
5. Die mense het hom toegejuig: ‘Dit is die stem van ‘n god, nie van ‘n mens nie!’
6. Onmiddelik het ‘n Engel van die Here Herodes getref, omdat hy die verering aanvaar het, en nie aan God gegee het nie. Hy is deur wurms opgevreet en het gesterf. 
7. Maar die Goeie Nuus het verder versprei, en baie het tot geloof gekom. 
8. Barnabas en Saulus het terug gekeer nadat hulle, hulle opdrag in Jerusalem voltooi het. Hulle het vir Johannes met die noemnaam Markus, saamgebring.

(Acts 12:18-25) 

AN ANGEL OF THE LORD STRUCK HEROD DOWN:

1. When day came, there was no little disturbance among the soldiers, over what had become of Peter. 
2. And after Herod searched for him, and did not find him, he examined the sentries and ordered that they should be put to death. Then he went down from Judea to Caesarea and spent time there. 
3. Herod was angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon. And they came to him with one accord, and having persuaded Blastus, the king’s chamberlain, they asked for peace, because their country depended on the king’s country for food. 
4. On an appointed day, Herod put on his royal robes, took his seat upon the throne, and delivered an oration to them. 
5. Then the people were shouting: ‘The voice of a god, and not of a man!’
6. Immediately an Angel of the Lord struck him down, because he did not give God the glory. He was eaten by worms, and died. 
7. But the Word of God increased and multiplied. 
8. And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had completed their service, bringing with them John, whose other name was Mark.

(Handelinge 13:1-12) 

HULLE HET DIE WOORD VAN GOD IN DIE JOODSE SINAGOGES VERTOLK: 

1. In die Gemeente in Antiogië was daar profete en leraars: Barnabas, Simeon met die noemnaam Niger, Lucius van Sirene, Manaen wat saam met koning Herodes Antipas grootgeword het, en Saulus. 
2. ‘n Keer toe hulle bymekaar was, om die Here te dien en om te vas, het die Heilige Gees gesê: ‘+Sonder Barnabas en Saulus vir My af, om die werk te doen waarvoor Ek hulle geroep  het.’+
3. Na nog vas en bid is hulle die hande opgelê, en het die Gemeente hulle weggestuur. 
4. Deur die Heilige Gees uitgestuur, het Barnabas en Saulus na Seleukië toe gegaan, en daarvandaan na die eiland Siprus toe oorgevaar. 
5. In Salamis aangekom, het hulle die Woord van God in die Joodse sinagoges verkondig. Hulle het Johannes Markus as helper gehad. 
6. Daarna het hulle die hele eiland deurgegaan tot by Pafos. Daar het hulle ‘n Joodse towenaar teëgekom, met die naam Barjesus. 
7. Hy was saam met díe goewerneur, Sergius Paulus, wat ‘n verstandige man was. Díe goewerneur het Barnabas en Saulus genooi om die Woord van God, aan hom te kom verkondig. 
8. Die towenaar Elimas (sy naam word so vertaal), het hulle egter teengestaan, omdat hy díe goewerneur wou weghou van die Christelike geloof. 
9. Maar Saulus, dit is Paulus, vol van die Heilige Gees, het hom stip aangekyk,
10. en gesê: “Duiwelskind, jy loop oor van al wat skelmstreek en bedrogspul is! Vyand van alles wat reg is! Sal jy nooit ophou om die reguit paaie van die Here vol kronkels te maak nie! 
11. “Nou is die strawwende hand van die Here op jou. Jy sal blind word en die son ‘n tyd lank nie sien nie!” Onmiddelik het hy net mistigheid en donkerte gesien, en het hy rondgetas en gesoek na iemand om sy gids te wees. 
12. Toe die goewerneur sien wat gebeur het, het hy gelowig geword, en hy was verstom oor die Christelike leer.

(Acts 13:1-12)

THEY PROCLAIMED THE WORD OF GOD IN THE SYNAGOGUES OF THE JEWS: 

1. There were in the Church at Antioch Prophets and Teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen, a lifelong friend of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 
2. While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said: ‘+Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul, for the work to which I Have called them.’+
3. Then, after more fasting and praying, they laid their hands on them, and sent them off. 
4. So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus. 
5. When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the Word of God in the synagogues of the Jews, and they had John Mark to assist them. 
6. When they had gone through the whole island as far as Paphos, they came upon a certain magician, a Jewish false prophet named Barjesus. 
7. He was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence. He summoned Barnabas and Saul, and sought to hear the Word of God. 
8. But Elymas the magician (for that was the meaning of his name), opposed them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith. 
9. But Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him, 
10. and said: “You son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, full of deceit and villainy, will you not stop making crooked the straight paths of the Lord?
11. “And now behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you will be blind, and unable to see the sun for a time.” Immediately mist and darkness fell upon him, and he went about seeking people to lead him by the hand. 
12. Then the proconsul believed, when he saw what had occurred, for he was astonished at the teaching of the Lord.

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 12:12-17)

HY HET VERTEL HOE DIE HERE HOM UIT DIE TRONK UITGELEI HET: 

1. Toe dit vir Petrus duidelik geword het, is hy na die huis van Maria, die ma van Johannes. (sy noemnaam was Markus). Daar was ‘n aansienlike groep mense saam wat gebid het. 
2. Hy het aan die buitedeur geklop, en ‘n diensmeisie met die naam Rodé, het kom hoor wie dit is. 
3. Toe sy Petrus se stem herken, het sy van blydskap nie die deur oopgemaak nie, maar binnetoe gehardloop en uitgeroep dat Petrus by die buitedeur staan!
4. Maar hulle het vir haar gesê: ‘Jy is skoon van jou wysie af!’ Toe sy egter daarmee volhou, het hulle gesê: ‘Dan is dit seker sy engel.’
5. Intussen het Petrus weer geklop. Toe hulle oopmaak en hom sien, was hulle baie verbaas.   
6. Hy het met sy hand vir hulle beduie om stil te bly, en vir hulle vertel hoe die Here hom uit die tronk uitgelei het. “Vertel vir Jakobus en die ander gelowiges wat gebeur het.” het hy gesê. Hy is toe buitentoe en het elders heen vertrek.

(Acts 12:12-17)

HE TOLD THEM HOW THE LORD HAD BROUGHT HIM OUT OF PRISON: 

1. When Peter realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John, whose other name was Mark. Many were gathered there and were praying. 
2. And when Peter knocked at the gateway, a servant girl named Rhoda came to answer. 
3. Recognizing Peter’s voice, in her joy she did not open the gate. She ran in and reported that Peter was standing at the gate. 
4. They said to her: ‘You are out if your mind!’ But she kept persisting that it was so. Then they said: ‘Then this must be his angel!’
5. But Peter continued knocking, and when they opened and saw him, they were amazed!
6. But motioning them with his hand to be silent, he described to them how the Lord Had brought him out of the prison. Then he said to them: “Tell these things to James and the brothers.” Then he departed and went to another place.

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 11:29-30)

PETRUS WAS IN DIE TRONK BEWAAK:

1. Die gelowiges in Antiogië het toe besluit dat elkeen van hulle na sy vermoë sou bydra tot ‘n hulpfonds wat vir hulle mede-gelowiges in Judea gestuur sou word. 
2. Hulle het dit toe gedoen en die geld met Barnabas en Saulus aan die ouderlinge in Jerusalem gestuur. 

(Handelinge 12:1-11)

1. In hierdie tyd het koning Herodes Agrippa party van die mense wat aan die Kerk behoort, laat arresteer en hulle mishandel. 
2. Hy het Jakobus, die broer van Johannes met ‘n swaard laat vermoor. 
3. Toe Herodes sien dat dit by die Jode byval vind, het hy nog verder gegaan en Petrus tydens die Fees van die Ongesuurde Brood, laat arresteer. 
4. Hy het hom in die tronk laat sit, en hom deur vier afdelings van vier soldate elk, laat bewaak. Herodes wou hom nà Paasfees in die openbaar verhoor. 
5. So is Petrus toe in die tronk bewaak, maar die Kerk het aanhoudend vir hom by God ingetree. 
6. Die nag voordat Herodes Petrus in die openbaar sou verhoor, het hy tussen twee soldate geslaap, terwyl hy met twee kettings geboei was, en ander wagte die tronkdeur bewaak. 
7. Meteens staan daar ‘n
   Engel van die Here by Petrus en ‘n lig skyn in die sel. Die Engel stoot toe aan Petrus se sy en maak hom wakker, en sê: ‘+Staan gou op!’+ Die boeie het van sy polse afgeval. 
8. Toe sê die Engel vir hom: ‘+Maak vas jou belt en trek jou sandale aan.’+ Hy het so gemaak. Daarna sê die Engel vir hom: ‘+Trek jou bokleed aan en kom agter My aan. 
9. Petrus het die Engel uit die sel gevolg. Hy het nie besef dat die optrede van die Engel werklikheid was nie. Hy het gedink hy sien ‘n gesig. 
10. Hulle is by die eerste wag verby en ook by die tweede. En toe hulle by die ysterhek kom wat na die stad lei, het dit vanself oopgegaan. Hulle het buitentoe gegaan en ‘n ent met die straat afgestap. Toe het die Engel Petrus skielik verlaat. 
11. Uiteindelik dring dit tot Petrus deur wat met hom gebeur het, en hy sê vir homself: “Nou besef ek eers regtig dat die Here Sy Engel gestuur het, en my uit die mag van Herodes gered het, en van die ķwasd wat die Jode gehoop het om my aan te doen!”

PEARL FOR EACH DAY: 

(Acts 11:29-30)

PETER WAS KEPT IN PRISON: 

1. So the disciples determined, everyone according to his ability, to send relief to the brothers in Judea. 
2.   And they did so, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul. 

Acts 12:1-11)

1. About that time, Herod the king, laid violent hands on some who belonged to the Church. 
2. He killed James the brother of John with the sword.
3. And when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. This was during the days of Unleavened Bread. 
4. And when he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him over to four squads of solders to guard him. Intending after the Passover, to bring him out to the people. 
5. So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the Church. 
6. When Herod was about to bring him out, on that very night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding  the prison. 
7. And  behold, an Angel of thr Lord stood next to him, and light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him, saying:’.+Get up quickly!’+ And the chains fell off his hands. 
8. And the Angel said to him: ‘+Dress your yourself and put on your sandals.’+ Peter did so, and thè Angel said to him:’+Wrap your cloack around you, and follow me.’+
9. And Peter went out and followed him. He did not know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought that he was seeing a vision. 
10. When they had passed the first and the second guard, they came to the gate leading into the city. It opened for them of its own accord. And they went out and along one street, and immediately the Angel left him. 
11. When Peter came to himself he said : “Now I am sure that the Lord sent His Angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod, and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”

Maandag 8 September 2025. 

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 11:19-28) 

BARNABAS HET HULLE AANGESPOOR OM LOJAAL AAN DIE HERE TE BLY: 

1. Diegene wat uit Jerusalem gevlug het, oor die vervolging na Stefanus se dood,  het na Fenisië, Siprus en Antiogië toe gegaan. Hulle het die Evangelie verkondig, maar net aan Jode. 
2. Daar was egter sekere Sipriese en Sireniese mans wat in Antiogië gekom het, en ook aan die Grieks-sprekendes die Goeie Nuus verkondig het, dat Jesus die Here is. 
3. Die Here het hulle werk geseën, sodat ‘n groot getal tot geloof gekom, en hulle tot die Here bekeer het. 
4. Toe die Gemeente in Jerusalem hoor wat gebeur het, het hulle Barnabas Antiogië toe gestuur. 
5. Toe hy daar kom en sien hoe God in Sy genade onder hulle gewerk het, was hy bly. Hy het hulle toe aangespoor om lojaal aan die Here te bly. 
6. Barnabas was ‘n goeie man, vol van die Heilige Gees en geloof. ‘n Aansienlike groep mense is toe na die Here toe gebring. 
7. Barnabas is daarna Tarsus toe om vir Saulus te gaan soek. 
8. Toe hy hom kry, het hy hom Antiogië toe gebring. En so het dit gekom dat hulle twee ‘n hele jaar lank saam in die Gemeente gewerk, en ‘n taamlike hoeveelheid mense onderrig het. In Antiogië is die gelowiges vir die eerste keer Christene genoem. 
9. In hierdie tyd het Profete van Jerusalem af na Antiogië toe gekom. 
10. Een van hulle met die naam Agabus, het tydens ‘n byeenkoms opgestaan en voorspel dat ‘n groot hongersnood die hele Romeinse wêreld gaan tref. (Dit het dan ook in die tyd van keiser Claudius gebeur.)

Monday 8 September 2025. 

PEARL FOR EACH DAY: 

(Acts 11:19-28)

BARNABAS EXHORTED THEM ALL TO REMAIN FAITHFUL TO THE LORD:

1. Those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose over Stephen, traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch. Speaking the Word to no one except the Jews.  
2. But there were some of them, men of Cypress and Cyrene, who, on coming to Antioch spoke to the Hellenists also. Preaching the Lord Jesus. 
3. And the hand of the
   Lord was with them and a great number who believed turned to the Lord. 
4. The report of this came to the ears of the Church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. 
5. When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord, with steadfast purpose. 
6. For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord. 
7. So Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul,
8. and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the Church and taught a great many people. And in Antioch the disciples  were first called Christians. 
9. In these days Prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. 
10. And one of them named Agabus stood up in a meeting and foretold by the Spirit that there would  be a great famine over all the world. This took place in the days of Claudius.

(Handelinge 11:1-18) 

JULLE SAL MET DIE HEILIGE GEES GEDOOP WORD:

1. Die apostels en die ander gelowiges in Judea het gehoor dat ook nie-Jode die Woord van God aangeneem het. 
2. Toe Petrus in Jerusalem aankom, het die Joodse gelowiges hom gekritiseer. 
3. ‘Jy het nie-Jode besoek en jy het selfs saam met hulle geëet.’
4. Petrus het alles vir hulle mooi begin uiteensit:
5. “Ek was in Joppe besig om te bid, toe ek in geestesvervoering ‘n gesig  gesien het.” Het hy gesê: “Iets soos ‘n groot doek wat aan sy vier punte neergelaat word, het uit die hemel tot by my gekom. 
6. “Toe ek in die doek kyk sien ek allerhande aardse diere, wilde diere en reptiele en voëls. 
7. Toe hoor ek ‘n stem wat vir my sê: ‘+Staan op Petrus, slag en eet.’*
8. “Nooit nie Here!” Het ek geantwoord. “Iets wat onrein is, het nog nooit my mond binne gegaan nie.”
9. ‘n Tweede keer het ‘n stem uit die hemel gereageer: ‘+Wat God rein gemaak het, mag jy nie onrein ag nie.’+
10. Dit het drie keer gebeur, en daarna is alles weer in die hemel opgetrek. 
11. Presies op daardie tydstip, het drie mans wat van Sesarea af gestuur was, by die huis aangekom waar ons tuis was. 
12. Die Gees het vir my gesê dat ek saam met hulle moet gaan en dat ek nie moet aarsel omdat hulle nie-Jode is nie. Ek het toe saam met hierdie ses mede-gelowiges gegaan. En ons het die man wat my laat haal het se huis binne gegaan. 
13. Hy het vir ons vertel hoe hy die engel in sy huis sien staan het wat vir hom sê: ‘+Stuur mense Joppe toe en laat haal vir Simon met die noemnaam Petrus. 
14. ‘+Hy het ‘n boodskap vir jou waardeur jy verlos sal word, jy en jou hele huishouding.’+
15. Ek het net begin om die Goeie Nuus te vertel, toe kom die Heilige Gees op hulle net soos op ons in die begin. 
16. Toe dink ek aan die Woorde van die Here toe Hy gesê het: ‘+Johannes het wel met water gedoop, maar julle sal met die Heilige Gees gedoop word.’+
17. Aangesien God dan dieselfde geskenk aan die nie-Jode gegee het, as aan ons toe ons tot geloof in die Here Jesus Christus gekom het, watter reg het ek om God te keer?”
18. Toe hulle dit hoor,  het hulle stil geraak. Toe het hulle God begin prys en gesê: ‘God het selfs nie-Jode tot inkeer gebring, om aan hulle die lewe te gee.’

“YOU WILL BE BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT:”

1. The apostles and the brothers who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the Word of God. 
2. So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcision party criticised him, saying:
3. ‘You went to uncircumcised men and ate with them.’
4. But Peter began and explained to them in order: 
5. “I was in the city of Joppa, praying and in a trance I saw a vision – something like a great sheet decending, being let down from heaven by its four corners. And it came down to me. 
6. “Looking at it closely, I observed animals and beasts of prey, and reptiles and birds of the air. 
7. “And I heard a voice saying to me:’.+Rise Peter, kill and eat.’+
8. “But I said: By no means Lord, for nothing common or unclean has ever entered my mouth.”
9. “But a voice answered a second time from heaven: ‘+What God Has made clean, do not call common. ‘+
10. “This happened three times, and all was drawn up again into heaven. 
11. “And behold, at that very moment three men arrived at the house in which we were, sent to me from Caesarea. 
12. “And the Spirit told me to go with them, making no distinction. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered the man’s house. 
13. “And he told us how he had seen an angel stand in his house and said: ‘+Send to Joppa and bring Simon who is called Peter;
14. “He will declare to you a message by which you will be saved, you and your household.
15. “As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, just as on us at the beginning. 
16. “And I remembered the Word of the Lord: ‘+John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’+
17. “If then God gave the same gift to them as He gave to us, when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in GOD’s way?”
18. When they heard these things, they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying: ‘Then to the Gentiles also God Has granted repentance that leads to life!’

GOD TREK NIE MENSE VOOR NIE:

1.  Toe  antwoord Petrus: “Waarlik, ek begryp nou eers dat God nie sekere mense bo ander voortrek nie. 
2. “In enige volk neem Hy die mense aan wat vir Hom ontsag het en doen wat reg is. 
3. “Julle weet tog dat God aan die volk Israel die Goeie Nuus gestuur het, dat daar vrede met Hom is deur Jesus Christus. Hy is Here oor almal. 
4. “Julle weet ook wat dwarsdeur Judea gebeur het. Dit het van Galilea af begin nadat Johannes die Doper begin preek het. 
5. “Julle weet ook hoe God Jesus Christus van Nasaret met die Heilige Gees en met Krag gesalf het. Jesus het toe rondgegaan, orals goeie werke gedoen en almal gesond gemaak wat onder die mag van die duiwel was. Want God was by Hom. 
6. “En ons as apostels is getuies van alles wat Hy in Judea en in Jerusalem gedoen het. Die Jode het Hom vermoor deur Hom te kruisig; 
7. “maar God het Hom drie dae later opgewek. Toe het God Hom laat verskyn,
8. “nie in die openbaar aan almal nie, maar net aan ons wat Hy vantevore gekies het om Jesus se getuies te wees. Ons wat nà Sy opstanding uit die dood, saam met Hom geëet en gedrink het. 
9. “Hy het ons toe opdrag gegee om aan almal te verkondig en te getuig dat dit Hy is wat deur God beskik is om Regter oor almal te wees. Dié wat nog lewe en dié wat alreeds gesterf het. 
10. “Van Hom getuig al die Profete dat elkeen wat in Hom glo, vergewing van sondes deur Sy Naam ontvang.”
11. Terwyl Petrus nog hierdie dinge sê, het die Heilige Gees op almal gekom wat sy boodskap gehoor het. 
12. Die Joodse gelowiges wat saam met Petrus gekom het, was verbaas dat die Heilige Gees ook op nie-Jode as geskenk uitgestort is. 
13. Hulle het geen twyfel daaroor gehad nie, want hulle het hulle ongewone tale hoor praat, en hoe hulle God se Grootheid besing.  Petrus het toe gesê: 
14. “Wat kan verhinder dat hulle met water gedoop word? Noudat hulle net soos ons die Heilige Gees ontvang het?”
15. Toe het hy bevel gegee dat hulle in die Naam van Jesus Christus gedoop word. Daarna het hulle Petrus gevra om ‘n paar dae daar te bly.

(Acts 10:34-48) 

GOD SHOWS NO PARTIALITY: 

1. So Peter said: “Truly, I understand that God shows no partiality, 
2. “but in every nation, anyone who fears Him and does what is right, is acceptable to Him. 
3. “As for the Word that He sent to Israel, preaching Good News of peace through Jesus Christ, He is the Lord of all. 
4. “You yourselves know what happened throughout all Judea,
5. “beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John proclaimed: How  God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. 
6. “And we are witnesses of all that He did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put Him to death by hanging Him on a tree,
7. “but God raised Him on the third day, and made Him to appear, 
8. “not to all the people, but to us who had been chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with Him, after He rose from the dead. 
9. “And He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that HE is the One appointed by God, to be Judge of the living and of the dead. 
10. “To Him all the Prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His Name.”
11. While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the Word. 
12. And the believers from among the circumcised who came with Peter, were amazed,  because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out, even on the Gentiles. 
13. For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter declared:
14. “Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”
15. And he commanded them to be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to remain for some days.

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 10:22-33) 

“GOD HET MY GEWYS DAT EK GEEN MENS AS ONREIN MAG BESKOU NIE:”

1. Hulle het geantwoord: “‘n Romeinse offisier oor honderd man, het ons gestuur. Hy is ‘n opregte man, en een wat ontsag vir God het. Die hele Joodse volk het hoë agting vir hom. ‘n Heilige engel het hom opdrag gegee om u na sy huis te laat haal, en dat hy moet luister na wat u te sê het.”
2. Petrus nooi hulle toe vir die nag in. Die volgende dag het hy saam met hulle vertrek. ‘n Paar van die mede-gelowiges in Joppe het saam met hom gegaan. 
3. Hulle het die volgende dag in Sesarea aangekom. Kornelius het hulle al verwag en het sy familie en naby vriende reeds saamgeroep. 
4. Toe Petrus die huis inkom, het Kornelius voor sy voete neergeval en hom begin aanbid. 
5. Maar Petrus het hom opgehelp en gesê: “Staan op! Ek is ‘n mens net soos jy.”
6. En terwyl hy met hom praat gaan hulle binne, en hy sien die klomp mense wat daar bymekaar is. 
7. Petrus sê toe vir hulle: “Julle weet dat ‘n Jood nie met iemand van ‘n ander volk kontak mag hê of by hom in die huis mag kom nie. Maar God het vir my gewys dat ek geen mens as onrein mag beskou nie. 
8. “Daarom het ek sonder beswaar gekom toe ek laat haal is. Ek vra dan nou: Waarom het julle my laat haal?”
9. Kornelius antwoord toe: ‘ Vier dae gelede was ek in my huis besig om te bid, so teen drie-uur in die middag. Skielik staan daar toe ‘n man met blink klere voor my. 
10. ‘Hy sê toe vir my: ‘+Kornelius, jou gebed is verhoor en jou bydraes vir die armes is nie vergeet nie! 
11. ‘+Stuur mense Joppe toe, en laat vir Simon met die noemnaam Petrus daar haal. Hy is ‘n gas in die huis van Simon, ‘n leerlooier, wat naby die see woon.’+
12. ‘Daarom het ek dadelik mense na u toe gestuur. En u was so goed om te kom. Hier is ons nou almal voor God om te hoor watter boodskap die Here aan u gegee het.’

PEARL FOR EACH DAY:

(Acts 10:22-33) 

“GOD HAS SHOWN ME THAT I SHOULD NOT CALL ANY PERSON COMMON OR UNCLEAN:”

1. And they said: ‘Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who is well-spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you, to come to his house, and to hear what you have to say.’
2. So he invited them in to be his guests. The next day he rose and went away with them. And some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him. 
3. And on the following day they entered Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had already called together his relatives and close friends. 
4. When Peter entered, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet, and worshiped him. 
5. But Peter lifted him up, saying: “Stand up, I too am a man.”
6. And as he talked with him, he went in and found many persons gathered. 
7. And he said to them: “You yourselves know how unlawfull it is for a Jew to associate with, or to visit anyone of another nation. But God Has shown me that I should not call any person common or unclean. 
8. “So when I was sent for, I came without objection. I ask then, why have you sent for me?”
9. And Cornelius said: ‘Four days ago, about this hour, I was praying  in my house at the ninth hour, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, 
10. and said: ‘+Cornelius, your prayers have been heard and your alms have been remembered before God 
11. ‘+Send therefore to Joppa and ask for Simon who is called Peter, he is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, who lives by the sea.’+
12. ‘So I sent for you at once, and you have been kind enough to come. Now therefore we are all here in the presence of God, to hear all that you have been commanded by the Lord.’
