(Johannes 16:12-20)

“ALLES WAT AAN MY VADER BEHOORT, BEHOORT OOK AAN MY:”

“Ek het nog baie dinge om vir julle te sê, maar julle sal dit nie nou kan begryp nie.
“Wanneer Hy kom, die Gees van die Waarheid sal Hy julle in die hele waarheid lei. Wat Hy sal sê, sal nie van Homself kom nie: Hy sal net sê wat Hy hoor. En Hy sal die dinge wat gaan kom aan julle verkondig.
“Hy sal My verheerlik, want wat Hy van My ontvang, sal Hy aan julle verkondig.
“Alles wat aan die Vader behoort, behoort ook aan My; daarom dat Ek gesê het: Wat Hy van My ontvang, sal Hy aan julle verkondig.
“Nog ‘n klein rukkie, dan sien julle My nie meer nie; en weer ‘n klein rukkie, dan sal julle My weer sien.”
Party van Sy dissipels het toe vir mekaar gevra: ‘Wat beteken dit dat Hy vir ons sê: “Nog ‘n klein rukkie dan sien julle My nie, en weer ‘n klein rukkie, dan sal julle My weer sien,” en: “Ek gaan na die Vader toe.”
‘Hierdie “klein rukkie”waarvan Hy praat, wat beteken dit? Ons weet nie wat Hy bedoel nie!’ het hulle gesê.
Jesus het gemerk dat hulle dit vir Hom wou vra, en Hy sê toe vir hulle: “Praat julle met mekaar daaroor dat Ek gesê het: Nog ‘n klein rukkie dan sien julle My nie, en weer ‘n klein rukkie dan sal julle My weer sien?
“Dit verseker Ek julle: Julle sal huil en treur, maar die wêreld sal bly wees. Julle sal bedroef word, maar julle droefheid sal in blydskap verander.”

“ALL THAT THE FATHER HAS IS MINE:”

“I still Have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
“When the Spirit of truth comes, He Will guide you into all the truth, for He Will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears, He Will speak, and He Will declare to you things that are to come.
“He Will glorify Me, for He Will take what is Mine and declare it to you.
“All that the Father Has is Mine; therefore I said that He Will take what is Mine, and declare it to you.
“A little while, and you will see Me no longer, and again a little while, and you will see Me.”
So some of His disciples said to one another: ‘What is this that He says to us: “A little while and you will not see Me, and again a little while and you will see Me’ and: “Because I Am going to the Father.”
So they were saying: ‘What does He mean by: “A little while.”We do not know what He is talking about.’
Jesus knew that they wanted to ask Him, so He said to them: “Is this what you are asking yourselves, what I meant by saying: “A little while and you will not see Me, and again a little while and you will see Me?”
“Truly, truly, I say to you: You will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy.”

“EK GAAN NOU NA HOM TOE WAT MY GESTUUR HET:”

“Hierdie dinge sê Ek vir julle, sodat julle nie afvallig word nie.
“Die mense sal julle uit die sinagoges ban. Daar kom selfs ‘n tyd dat elkeen wat een van julle doodmaak, sal dink dat hy ‘n diens aan God bewys.
“En dit sal hulle doen, omdat hulle die Vader nie ken nie, en My ook nie.
“Maar Ek sê dit nou vir julle, sodat wanneer die tyd daarvoor aanbreek, julle daaraan moet dink dat Ek dit vir julle gesê het. Ek het dit egter nie van die begin af vir julle gesê nie, omdat Ek nog by julle was.
“Nou gaan Ek na Hom toe wat My gestuur het, en tog vra niemand van julle vir My ‘waar gaan U heen?’ nie.
“Maar omdat Ek dit vir julle sê, is julle harte vol droefheid.
“Tog sê Ek vir julle die waarheid: Dit is tot julle voordeel dat Ek weggaan, want as Ek nie weggaan nie, sal die Voorspraak, die Heilige Gees, nie na julle toe kom nie. Maar as Ek gaan, sal Ek Hom na julle toe stuur.
“En wanneer Hy kom, sal Hy bewys dat die wêreld skuldig is aan sonde, en dat die Reg aan My kant is, en dat die oordeel al gekom het.
“Die wêreld is skuldig aan sonde, want die wêreld glo nie in My nie;
“die Reg is aan My kant, want Ek gaan na die Vader toe, en julle sal My nie meer sien nie;
“die oordeel het al gekom, want die owerste van hierdie wêreld is klaar veroordeel.”

“NOW I’M GOING TO HIM WHO SENT ME:”

“I Have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away.
“They will put you out of the synagogues indeed, the hour is coming that whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.
“And they will do these things, because they have not known the Father, nor Me.
“But I Have said these things to you, that when the hour comes, you may remember that I warned you. I did not say these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you.
“But now I Am going to Him Who sent Me, and none of you ask Me: ‘Where are you going?’
“But because I Have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your hearts.
“Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper Will not come to you. But if I go, I Will send Him to you.
“And when He comes, He Will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgement,
“concerning sin, because they did not believe in Me;
“concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see Me no longer,
“concerning judgement, because the ruler of this world is judged.”

“HULLE HET MY SONDER REDE GEHAAT:”

“As julle aan die wêreld behoort het, sou die wêreld julle as sy eiendom liefgehad het. Omdat julle egter nie aan die wêreld behoort nie, maar Ek julle uit die wêreld uitgekies het, daarom haat die wêreld julle.
“Onthou wat Ek vir julle gesê het: ‘’n Slaaf is nie belangriker as sy eienaar nie.’ As hulle My vervolg het, sal hulle julle ook vervolg. As hulle My Woorde ter harte geneem het, sal hulle julle s’n ook ter harte neem.
“Maar hulle sal dit alles aan julle doen, omdat julle My Naam bely, en Hom nie ken wat My gestuur het nie.
“As Ek nie gekom en met hulle gepraat het nie, sou hulle nie skuldig gewees het nie, maar nou het hulle geen verskoning vir hulle sonde nie.
“Wie My haat, haat ook My Vader.
“As Ek nie by julle die werke gedoen het wat niemand anders gedoen het nie, sou hulle nie skuldig gewees het nie; maar nou sien hulle dit, en tog haat hulle My en My Vader.
“Maar die Woorde wat in die Skrif geskrywe staan, moet vervul word: ‘Hulle het My sonder rede gehaat.’
“Wanneer die Voorspraak kom, wat Ek vir julle van die Vader af sal stuur, die Gees van die Waarheid, wat van die Vader uitgaan sal Hy oor My getuig.
“En julle moet getuig, want julle is van die begin af by My.”

“THEY HATED ME WITHOUT A CAUSE:”

“If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
“Remember the Word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master,’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My Word, they will also keep yours.
“But all these things they will do to you, on account of My Name, because they do not know Him Who sent Me.
“If I Had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.
“Whoever hates Me, hates My Father also.
“If I Had not done among them the Works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen, and hated both Me and My Father.
“But the Word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled: ‘They hated Me without a cause.’
“But when the Helper comes, Whom I Will send to you, from the Father, the Spirit of Truth, Who proceeds from the Father, He Will bear witness about Me.
“And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.”

“JULLE MOET MEKAAR LIEFHÊ:”

“Dit is My opdrag: Julle moet mekaar liefhê soos Ek julle liefhet.
“Niemand het groter liefde as dit nie: dat Hy Sy lewe vir Sy vriende aflê.
“Julle is My vriende, as julle doen wat Ek julle beveel.
“EK noem julle nie meer ondergeskiktes nie, want ‘n ondergeskikte weet nie wat sy baas doen nie. Nee, Ek noem julle vriende, omdat Ek alles wat Ek van My Vader gehoor het, aan julle bekend gemaak het.
“Julle het My nie uitgekies nie, maar Ek het julle uitgekies en julle aangestel om uit te gaan en vrugte te dra. Vrugte wat sal hou. So sal die Vader aan julle gee wat julle ookal in My Naam vra.
“Dit beveel Ek julle: Julle moet mekaar liefhê.
“As die wêreld julle haat, onthou: Die wêreld het My voor julle gehaat.”

“This is My commandment, that you love one another as I Have loved you.
“Greater love has no one like this, that someone lays down his life for his friends.
“You are My friends, if you do what I command you.
“No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what the master is doing. But I Have called you friends, for all that I Have heard from My Father, I Have made known to you.
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name, He may give it to you.
“These things I command you, so that you will love one another.
“If the world hates you, know that it has hated Me, before it hated you.”

“JULLE MOET IN MY BLY EN EK IN JULLE:”

“Ek is die Ware Wingerdstok, en My Vader is die boer.
“Elke loot aan My wat nie vrugte dra nie, sny Hy af; maar elkeen wat vrugte dra, snoei Hy reg, sodat dit nog meer vrugte kan dra.
“Julle is alreeds reg gesnoei, deur die Woorde wat Ek vir julle gesê het.
“Julle moet in My bly, en Ek in julle. ‘n Loot kan nie uit sy eie vrugte dra, as hy nie aan die wingerdstok bly nie; en so julle ook nie, as julle nie in My bly nie.
“Ek is die wingerdstok, julle die lote. Wie in My bly, en Ek in hom, dra baie vrugte, want sonder My kan julle niks doen nie.
“As iemand nie in My bly nie, word hy weggegooi soos ‘n loot, en hy verdroog. Die mense maak sulke lote bymekaar en gooi dit in die vuur, en dit verbrand.
“As julle in My bly, en My woorde in julle, vra dan net wat julle wil hê, en julle sal dit kry.
“My Vader word juis daardeur verheerlik dat julle baie vrugte dra, en My dissipels is.
“Soos die Vader My liefhet, het Ek julle ook lief. Julle moet in My liefde bly.
“As julle My opdragte uitvoer, sal julle in My liefde bly, net soos Ek die opdragte van My Vader uitvoer, en in Sy liefde bly.
“Dit sê Ek vir julle, sodat My blydskap in julle kan wees, en julle blydskap volkome kan wees.”

“ABIDE IN ME, AND I IN YOU:”

“I Am the True Vine and My Father is the Vinedresser.
“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
“Already you are clean, because of the Word that I Have spoken to you.
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit itself it abides in the Vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
“I Am the Vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me, and I in Him, he is it that bears much fruit, for apart from Me, you can do nothing.
“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away like a branch, and withers, and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.
“If you abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.
“As the Father Has loved Me, so Have I loved you. Abide in My love.
“If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I Have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
“These things I Have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”
