PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 4:32-37)

ANANIAS EN SAFFIRA:

1. Die groot getal wat gelowig  geword het, was een van hart en siel. Niemand het sy goed net vir homself gehou nie, maar hulle het alles met mekaar gedeel. 
2. Die apostels het kragdadiglik getuig dat die Here Jesus uit die dood opgewek is, en die genade van God was groot oor hulle almal. 
3. Nie een van hulle het gebrek gely nie, want dié wat grond of huise besit het, het dit verkoop en die verkoopsprys daarvan gebring,
4. en vir díe apostels gegee. Hulle het dit dan uitgedeel volgens elkeen se behoefte. 
5. Josef, ‘n Leviet wat op Siprus gebore is, en deur die apostels Barnabas genoem is, – dit beteken iemand wat mense moed inpraat – 
6. het ook die grond wat hy gehad het verkoop, en die geld gebring, en dit vir die apostels gegee. 

(Handelinge 5:1-11)

1. Daar was ook ‘n sekere man Ananias en sy vrou Saffira, wat ‘n eiendom verkoop het. 
2. Met die medewete van sy vrou, het hy van díe verkoopsprys vir hulleself agtergehou, en net ‘n gedeelte daarvan gebring, en vir díe apostels gegee. 
3. Petrus sê toe vir hom: “Ananias, hoekom het jy jou deur die satan laat omhaal om vir die Heilige Gees te lieg? En van die verkoopsprys vir jouself agter te hou? 
4. “Die grond was mos joune, en toe dit verkoop is, kon jy met die geld gemaak het wat jy wou. Wat het jou besiel om dit te doen?Jy het nie vir mense gelieg nie, maar vir God.”
5. Toe Ananias dit hoor, het hy dood neergeval; en al die ander wat dit gehoor het, het baie bang geword. 
6. ‘n Paar van die jong manne het nader gekom, hom toegedraai en gaan begrawe. 
7. Omtrent drie uur later, het sy vrou daar aangekom, onbewus van wat gebeur het. 
8. Petrus vra toe vir haar: “Sê vir my, het julle die grond vir soveel verkoop?” ‘Ja,’ sê sy, ‘vir soveel.’ 
9. Toe sê Petrus vir haar; “Waarom het julle ooreen gekom om die Gees van die Here uit te tart? Die mense wat jou man begrawe het, is nou net weer by die deur, en hulle sal jou ook uitdra.”
10. Sy het onmiddellik voor Petrus dood neergeval. Die jongmanne het ingekom, gesien sy is dood, en haar by haar man gaan begrawe. 
11. Die hele Gemeente en al die ander mense wat hiervan gehoor het, het baie bang geword.

(Acts 4:32-37)

ANANIAS AND SAPPHIRA:

1. The full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him, was his own, but they had everything in common. 
2. And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. 
3. There were not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses, sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold, 
4. and laid it at the apostle’s feet. And it was distributed to each as any had need. 
5. Thus Joseph, who was also called by the apostles Barnabas, (which means son of encouragement), a Levite, a native of Cyprus, 
6. sold a field that belonged to him, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles feet. 

(Acts 5:1-11)

1. But a man named Ananias with his wife Sapphira,sold a piece of property,
2. and with his wife’s knowledge he kept back for himself some of the proceeds, and brought only a part of it, and laid it at the apostle’s feet. 
3. But Peter, said: “Ananias why has satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land?
4. “While it was unsold,did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? Why is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to man but to God!”
5. When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and breathed his last. And great fear came upon all who heard of it. 
6. The young men rose and wrapped him up, and carried him out, and buried him. 
7. After an interval of about three hours, his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. 
8. And Peter said to her: “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much.” And she said: ‘Yes, for so much.’
9. But Peter said to her: “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband, are at the door, and they will carry you out.”
10. Immediately she fell down at his feet, and breathed her last. When the young men came in they found her dead, and they carried her out, and buried her beside her husband. 
11. And great fear came on the whole Church and on all who heard about these things.

(Handelinge 4:23-31) 

DIE PLEK WAAR HULLE BYMEKAAR WAS HET GESKUD:  

1. Nadat Petrus en Johannes losgelaat is, het hulle na hulle mede-gelowiges toe gegaan en vir hulle vertel wat die priesterhoofde en die familiehoofde alles vir hulle gesê het. 
2. Toe hulle dit hoor het hulle almal saam tot God gebid en gesê: “Here, dit is U wat die hemel en die aarde en die see en alles wat daar is, gemaak het. 
3. “En U het dit deur die Heilige Gees by monde van ons voorvader Dawid, U dienaar gesê: ‘+Waarom het heidennasies te kere gegaan, en het volke sinlose planne beraam? 
4. ‘+Die konings van die aarde het in opstand gekom, en die heersers het saamgespan, teen die Here en teen Sy Gesalfde.’+
5. “Dit is wat werklik in hierdie stad gebeur het. Herodes en Pontius Pilatus het met heiden nasies en die volk saamgespan teen U Heilige Dienaar Jesus, wat deur U gesalf is, 
6. “en hulle het alles gedoen wat U vooruit beskik en besluit het. 
7. “En nou Here, kyk hoe dreig hulle ons. Gee dat U dienaars met volle vrymoedigheid U Woord sal kan verkondig. 
8. “Laat U hand genesing bring, en laat daar tekens en wonders plaasvind deur die Naam van U Heilige Dienaar, Jesus.”
9. Nadat hulle gebid het, het díe plek waar hulle bymekaar was, geskud. Hulle is almal met die Heiige Gees vervul, en het met vrymoedigheid die Woord van God verkondig.

THE PLACE WHERE THEY WERE GATHERED TOGETHER WAS SHAKEN: 

1. When they were released, they went to their friends, and reported what the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 
2. And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God and said: “Sovereign Lord, Who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them,
3. “who through the mouth of our father David, your servant, said by the Holy Spirit: ‘+Why did the Gentiles rage and the people plot in vain? 
4. ‘“+The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against His Anointed.’+
5. “For truly in this city there were gathered together, against Your Holy Servant Jesus, Whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, 
6. “to do whatever Your hand and your plan had predestined to take place. 
7. “And now Lord, look upon their threats and grant to Your servants to continue to speak Your Word with all boldness, 
8. “while You stretch out Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the Name of Your Holy ServantJesus.”
9. And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together, was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and continued to speak the Word of God with boldness.

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG: 

(Handelinge 4:11-22) 

DIE MENSE HET GOD GEPRYS OOR WAT GEBEUR HET:

1. “Hy is die “Klip” wat deur julle die bouers afgekeur is. Juis HY, het die belangrikste klip in die gebou geword. 
2. “Hy bring die verlossing en niemand anders nie. Daar is geen ander Naam op die aarde aan die mense gegee, waardeur God wil hê dat ons verlos moet word nie.”
3. Die Joodse Raad was verbaas toe hulle Petrus en Johannes se vrymoedigheid sien, want die Raad het geweet dit is maar ongeleerde en eenvoudige mense. Die Raadslede het hulle ook herken as volgelinge van Jesus. 
4. En toe hulle nog boonop die gesonde man by die apostels sien staan, kon hulle niks teen hulle inbring nie. 
5. Die Raadslede het hulle toe beveel om die Raadsaal te verlaat, en het die saak met mekaar bespreek. 
6. ‘Wat gaan ons met hierdie mense maak?’ Het hulle gevra. ‘Dat ‘n onmiskenbare wonder deur hulle plaasgevind het, is vir al die inwoners van Jerusalem duidelik. Ons kan dit nie ontken nie. 
7. ‘Maar om te verhinder dat hierdie dinge nog verder onder die volk versprei, moet ons hulle met dreigemente verbied om weer in die Naam van Jesus met iemand te praat.’
8. Daarna het die Raad die apostels weer laat inkom, en hulle beveel om gladnie verder in die Naam van Jesus iets te verkondig of te leer nie. 
9. Maar Petrus en Johannes het vir hulle gesê: “Julle moet maar self besluit wat voor God reg is: Of aan julle gehoorsaam te wees, of aan God. 
10. “Wat ons betref: Dit is onmoontlik om nie te praat oor wat ons gesien en gehoor het nie.”
11. Nadat die Raad die apostels daarby nog ernstig gedreig het, het hulle die apostels vrygelaat. Hulle het dit gedoen omdat hulle geen rede kon vind om hulle te straf nie, en ook vanweë die houding van die volk, want al die mense het God geprys oor wat daar gebeur het. 
12. Die man wat deur hierdie wonder gesond geword het, was immers al oor die veertig jaar oud.

(Acts 4:11-22) 

ALL WERE PRAISING GOD FOR WHAT HAD HAPPENED: 

1. “This Jesus is the Stone that was rejected by you the builders, which Has become the cornerstone.
2. “And there is salvation in no One else by which we must be saved.”
3. When they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus. 
4. But seeing the man who was healed standing beside them, they had nothing to say in opposition. 
5. But when they had commanded them to leave the council, they conferred with one another, 
6. saying: ‘What shall we do with these men? For that a notable sign has been performed through them is evident to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it. 
7. ‘But in order that it may spread no further among the people, let us warn them to speak no more to anyone in this Name.’
8. So they called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the Name of Jesus. 
9. But Peter and John answered them: “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, 
10. “for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.”
11. And when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people, for all were praising God for what had happened. 
12. For the man on whom the sign of healing was performed, was more than forty years old.

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 4:1-10) 

DIE GETAL GELOWIGES HET AANGEGROEI TOT OMTRENT VYF DUISEND: 

1.  Petrus en Johannes was nog besig om met die mense te praat toe die priesters, die bevelvoerder van die tempelwag, en die Sadduseërs op Petrus-hulle afstorm. 
2. Díe priesters en die ander was onthuts omdat die apostels die mense geleer het, en verkondig het dat die opstanding uit die dood deur Jesus se opstanding, ‘n werklikheid geword het. 
3. Hulle het Petrus en Johannes gevange geneem, en hulle, omdat dit al laat was, in die tronk gesit tot die volgende dag. 
4. Tog het baie van die mense wat hulle prediking gehoor het, gelowig geword. En die getal gelowiges het aangegroei tot omtrent vyf duisend. 
5. Die volgende môre het die Raadslede, die familiehoofde en die skrifgeleerdes in Jerusalem vergader. 
6. Ook die hoëpriesters Annas en Kajafas, en Johannes en Aleksander, en al die ander lede van die hoofpriesterlike familie was teenwoordig. 
7. Hulle het die apostels voor hulle laat bring en hulle ondervra: ‘Deur watter krag en in wie se naam het julle dit gedoen? 
8. Toe het Petrus, vol van die Heiige Gees vir hulle gesê: “Raadslede van die volk, en familiehoofde,
9. “julle verhoor ons vandag oor ‘n weldaad aan ‘n siek man, en oor hoe hy gesond gemaak is. 
10. “Julle almal en die hele volk Israel moet weet dat dit in die Naam van Jesus Christus van Nasaret is, dat hy gesond hier voor julle staan. Hierdie Jesus wat julle gekruisig het. Maar wat God uit die dood opgewek het.”

THE NUMBER OF THE MEN WHO BELIVED CAME TO ABOUT FIVE THOUSAND: 

1. And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them,
2. greatly annoyed with them because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 
3. And they arrested them and they put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. 
4. But many of those who have heard the word, believed. And the number of the men came to about five thousand.
5. On the next day their elders and rulers and scribes gathered together in Jerusalem,
6. with Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all who were from the high priestly family. 
7. And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired: ‘By what power or by what name did you do this?’
8. Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers of the people and elders, 
9. “If we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed, 
10. “Let it be made known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Whom you crucified, Whom God raised from thr dead, –  by Him, this man is standing before you, well.”

Maandag 23 en Dinsdag 24 Junie 2025. 

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 3:8-26)

HULLE WAS VERWONDERD EN VERBAAS: 

1. Die man het opgespring en regop gestaan, en kon loop. Daarna het hy saam met Petrus en Johannes die tempel binne gegaan, terwyl hy geloop en gespring en God geprys het. 
2. Al die mense het gesien dat hy loop en dat hy God prys;
3. maar toe hulle besef dat dit hy is wat voor die tempel by die Mooipoort gesit en bedel het, was hulle baie verbaas en  verwonderd oor wat daar met hom gebeur het. 
4. Die man het vir Petrus en Johannes bly volg, en die mense was almal verbaas en het na hulle toe gestroom in die Pilaargang van Salomo, soos dit genoem is. 
5. Toe Petrus dit sien het hy hulle toegespreek: “Israeliete, hoekom is julle hieroor verbaas? Wat staar julle ons so aan asof ons eie krag of vroomheid gemaak het dat hierdie man  loop? 
6. “Die God van Abraham, van Isak en van Jakob, die God van ons voorvaders, het aan Jesus, Sy Dienaar, Goddelike eer gegee – aan Hom wat julle uitgelewer en voor Pilatus verwerp het, toe hy beslis het dat Hy vrygelaat moes word. 
7. “Hy was Heilig en Opreg, maar julle het Hom verwerp en gevra dat daar vir julle ‘n moordenaar begenadig moet word. 
8. “Sò het julle Hom, die Leidsman na die Lewe toe, doodgemaak, maar God het Hom uit die dood opgewek, en daarvan is ons getuies. 
9. “Deur die geloof in Sy Naam het Hy die bene van hierdie man, wat julle sien en ken, sterk gemaak. Die geloof wat van Hom kom, het die man volkome herstel, hier voor julle almal. 
10.  “Nou weet ek broers, dat julle net soos julle leiers, in onkunde gehandel het. 
11. “Tog het God reeds vroeër by die monde van al die Profete aangekondig dat die Christus sou ly. So het Hy dit nou laat gebeur.  
12. “Daarom, bekeer julle en kom tot inkeer. Dan sal God julle sondes uitwis.
13. “En dan sal daar tye van  verkwikking van die Here af kom. En Hy sal Jesus stuur, wat vooraf vir julle as die Christus aangewys is. 
14. “Hy moet in die hemel bly totdat God alles nuut gemaak het. Dit het God reeds lank gelede deur Sy heilige Profete gesê.
15. “Moses het ook gesê: ‘Die Here julle God sal uit julle eie geledere ‘n Profeet soos ek laat voortkom. Gehoorsaam Hom in alles wat Hy vir julle sal sê. 
16. “‘Elkeen wat nie hierdie Profeet gehoorsaam nie, moet van die volk afgesny word.’
17. “En al die Profete van
    Samuel af en daarna, almal wat opgetree het, het ook aangekondig wat in hierdie tyd sal gebeur. 
18. “Die dinge waarvan die Profete gepraat het, is vir julle bedoel, en julle het deel aan die verbond wat God met julle voorvaders gesluit het. Hy het vir Abraham gesê: ‘+Jou nakomelinge sal vir al die volke van die aarde tot ‘n seën wees.’+
19. “Daarom het God Sy Dienaar na die wêreld toe laat kom, en Hom heel eerste na julle toe gestuur, om julle tot ‘n seën te wees, deur elkeen van julle van sy verkeerde paaie af terug te bring.”

(Acts 3:8-26)

THEY WERE FILLED WITH WONDER AND AMAZEMENT:

1. And leaping up, the man stood, and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. 
2. And all the people saw him walking and praising God, 
3. and recognized him as the one who sat at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, asking for alms. And they were filled with amazement and wonder at what had happened to him. 
4. While he clung to Peter and John, all the people, utterly astounded, ran together to them in the portico called Solomon’s. 
5. And when Peter saw it, he addressed the people: “Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or piety we have made him walk? 
6. “The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the Lord of our fathers, glorified His servant Jesus, Whom you delivered over and denied, in the presence of Pilate, when he decided to release Him,
7. “But you denied the Holy and Righteous  One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 
8. “and you killed the Author of Life, Whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses. 
9. “And by faith in His Name, – has made this man strong, whom you see and know, and the faith that is through Jesus Has given the man this perfect health, in the presence of you all. 
10. “And now brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did all your rulers. 
11. “But what God foretold by the mouth of the Prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He thus fulfilled. 
12. “Repent therefore and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, 
13. “that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, 
14. “Whom heaven must receive, until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy Prophets long ago.
15. “Moses said: ‘The Lord GOD Will raise up for  you a Prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to Him in whatever He tells you. 
16. “‘And it shall be that every soul that does not listen to that Prophet, shall be destroyed from the people.’
17. “And all the Prophets who have spoken, from Samuel, and those who came after him, also proclaimed these days. 
18. “You are the sons of the Prophets and of the Covenant that God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham: ‘+And in your offspring shall all your families of the earth be blessed.’+
19. “God, having raised up His servant, sent Him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.”

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 3:1-7) 

SY VOETE EN ENKELS HET ONMIDDELLIK GESOND EN STERK GEWORD:

1. Petrus en Johannes was op pad een middag tempel toe. 
2. Net toe word daar ‘n man aangedra, wat van sy geboorte af lam was. Sy mense het hom elke dag by die tempelpoort, wat Mooipoort genoem is, neergesit om by die tempel-gangers te bedel. 
3. Toe hy vir Petrus en Johannes sien, net voor hulle by die tempel ingaan, het hy hulle iets gevra. 
4. Petrus en Johannes kyk hom toe stip aan, en Petrus sê vir hom: “Kyk na ons!”
5. Toe kyk die man na hulle, in die hoop dat hy iets van hulle gaan kry. 
6. Maar Petrus sê vir hom: “Goud en silwer het ek nie, maar wat ek het, gee ek vir jou: In die Naam van Jesus Christus van Nasaret, staan op en loop!” 
7. Hy vat toe die man se regterhand en help hom op, en onmiddellik het sy voete en enkels sterk geword. 

Sunday 22 June 2025. 

PEARL FOR EACH DAY:

(Acts 3:1-7) 

HIS FEET AND ANKLES WERE MADE STRONG:

1. Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer – the ninth hour. 
2. And a man, lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple, that is called the ‘Beautiful Gate,’ to ask alms of those entering the temple. 
3. Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms. 
4. And Peter directed his gaze upon him, as did John, and said: “Look at us!” 
5. Anf he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them. 
6. But Peter said: “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have, I give to you: In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”
7. And he took him by the right hand and raised him up. And immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.

“U SAL NIE TOELAAT DAT U TROUE DIENAAR VERGAAN NIE:”

1. “Israeliete, luister na hierdie woorde: God het Jesus van Nasaret aan julle bekend gestel deur die kragtige dade, die wonders en die tekens, wat God Hom by julle laat doen het. Daarvan weet julleself. 
2. “God het besluit en dit vooruit bepaal, om Hom aan julle uit te lewer, en julle het Hom aan die kruis laat spyker en Hom doodgemaak. 
3. “Maar God het Hom van die smarte van die dood verlos, en Hom uit die dood laat opstaan. Dit was immers vir die dood onmoontlik om Hom gevange te hou. 
4. Van Hom sê Dawid: “Ek het die Here altyd voor oë. Hy is aan My regterhand; Ek sal nie wankel nie. 
5. “Daarom is my hart bly, en my tong jubel. Ja meer, Ek het die verwagting dat My liggaam sal lewe,
6. “want U sal My nie aan die doderyk oorlaat nie. U sal nie toelaat dat U troue dienaar vergaan nie. 
7. “U het My die paaie van die lewe geleer; U teenwoordigheid sal My met vreugde vul.”

2. “this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed, by the hands of lawless men. 
3. “God raised Him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it. 
4. “For David said concerning Him: ‘I saw the Lord always before Me, for He is at My right hand, that I may not be shaken; 
5. ‘therefore My heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; My flesh Will also dwell in hope.
6. “‘For You Will not abandon My soul to Hades, or let Your Holy One see corruption. 
7. “’You have made known to Me the paths of life; Your Will make Me full of gladness with Your presence.’”

1. And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another: “What does this mean?”
2. But others, mocking said: ‘They are filled with new wine.’
3. But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea, and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. 
4. “For these people are not drunk as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. 
5. “But this is what was uttered through the Prophet Joel: 
6. ‘+And in the last days it shall be,’+ God declares: ‘+that I Will pour out My Spirit on all flesh. and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men shall see visions,  and your old men shall dream dreams;
7. ‘+even on My male servants and My female servants in those days I Will pour My Spirit, and they shall prophesy. 
8. ‘+And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and vapor and smoke; 
9. +the sun will be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before thr day of the Lord comes, the great, magnificent day.

“ONS HOOR HULLE IN ONS EIE TAALPREEK OOR DIE GROOT DADE VAN GOD:”

1. En daar het in Jerusalem Jode gewoon, Godsdienstige manne, uit elke nasie wat onder die hemel is. 
2. En toe hierdie geluid kom, het die menigte saamgestroom en was in die war, want hulle het gehoor hoe hulle in elkeen se eie taal praat; 
3. en hulle was almal verbaas en verwonderd en het vir mekaar gesê: ‘Is almal wat daar praat dan nie Galileërs nie?
4. ‘En hoe hoor ons hulle, elkeen in ons eie taal, waarin ons gebore is?
5. ‘Parthers en Meders en Elamiete, en die inwoners van Mesopotàmië, Judéa en Kappadósië, Pontus en Asië. 
6. ‘Frigië en Pamfilië,  Egipte en die streke van Libië by Ciréne, en Romeine wat hier vertoef, Jode en Jodegenote. 
7. ‘Kretense en Arabiere – Ons hoor hulle in ons eie taal oor die groot dade van God preek.’

“WE HEAR THEM IN OUR OWN TONGUES PROCLAIMING THE MIGHTY WORKS OF GOD:

1. There were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. 
2. And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. 
3. And they were amazed and astonished, saying: ‘Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? 
4. ‘And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language?
5. ‘Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappodocia, Pontus and Asia, 
6. ‘Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya, belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, 
7. ‘both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians we hear them telling in our own tongues the Mighty works of God.’
